Peace Resort in Bophut is nestled on the northeast coast of Koh Samui, right on the beach with gorgeous views out towards Koh Phangan.
This 4 star resort is made up of beautifully decorated, traditional style beach bungalows and villas centred around a large pool and restaurant area. The whole resort is surrounded by lush green vegetation and palm trees which give it that tropical paradise feel we were looking for.

Location
Peace Resort is located with direct access to Bophut beach, which is made up of golden sand and stretches for 2 kilometres in total.
The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from Fisherman’s Village, where you will find hundreds of bars and restaurants offering a variety of cuisine and nightly fire shows. This is also where you will find the ever popular night market, where you can buy everything from street food to fake Nike trainers.
For us the location was ideal as it was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Fisherman’s Village, but only a short walk from all the action.
It is also only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport which after a long haul flight is a real bonus.
Check-in
We arrived much earlier than the check-in time, however we were greeted with a mango and passion fruit welcome drink, in a traditional ‘khan’ and a lovely, refreshing cold flannel. Our room wasn’t ready so we were able to leave our luggage and enjoy a delicious lunch in the beach side restaurant while we waited.
After lunch we went down to the beach and there weren’t enough sun loungers so one of the staff quickly fetched more along with complimentary beach towels.
Accommodation
We had opted for a two bedroom sea breeze pool villa which was located only a few hundred metres from the beach. It had its own private plunge pool and fenced off garden with sun loungers and a day bed.
Both of the bedrooms had ensuite facilities and the master bedroom had a walk in wardrobe/dressing area. The first thing we noticed was how huge the bed was, easily the same size as three large single beds put together.
It was tastefully decorated with dark wood, white walls and navy accents giving it a classy seaside feel. There was also a small sitting room with TV, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.
They offer a range of different accommodation from simple yet stylish bedrooms to beach front villas with infinity pools overlooking the sea.
Pool
The pool is situated next to the bar and restaurant, only a few metres from the beach. It is big enough to never feel crowded and there are plenty of comfortable padded sun loungers to relax on after a taking a dip. There is also a jacuzzi in the main pool where you can cool down in comfort.
There is a small children’s pool, which is separate to the main pool and offers a safe place for smaller children to splash around and cool down.
Other Entertainment
There is a small playground next to the pool with swings, climbing frame and slide suitable for children under 8. For older children, there is a games room with a dart board, pool table, table tennis and table football. Our girls loved playing in here in the early evening before we went for dinner, as we sat and enjoyed a cocktail looking out to sea.
There’s even a cinema room with comfy chairs and a big screen.
Gym
The gym is small but well equipped with cardio machines and free weights. It is fully air conditioned and complimentary towels and water are provided for your comfort.
Exercise Classes
There are free aqua aerobics sessions and yoga in the garden, once a week, which anyone can take part in.
Spa
There are 2 massage salas, one next to the pool and the other in an air conditioned room near reception. They offer a selection of treatments from traditional full body Thai massages to beauty treatments such a pedicures and manicures.
Beach
You can step directly onto the beach from the bar and restaurant, where you will find complimentary sun loungers and parasols on the golden sand of Bophut beach. The only slight downside is that the sand on Bophut beach is quite coarse but this doesn’t really affect your enjoyment of this beautiful beach with stunning views.
If you’re feeling more adventurous there are paddle boards and kayaks which you can borrow free of charge. A fantastic way to explore more of Bophut beach from a different view point. Our girls loved this added extra, but make sure to go early or in the late afternoon as its hot work paddling!
Breakfast
Breakfast was a feast and for me usually involved 5 different course. There are stations where you can have eggs cooked, any way you like, a noodle station, a huge range of fresh fruit, pastries, cakes and hot and cold drinks.
My daughters loved the kids corner where each day you had a selection of sweet treats including croffles (a croissant waffle hybrid) and pancakes with a wide range of toppings.
You could choose to sit in any area of the restaurant and we often chose a beach front seat with an amazing view out to sea and the added bonus of a sea breeze.
Restaurant
The restaurant has a menu with a good selection of dishes, both traditional Thai food and western cuisine. The standard of the food was great and it was reasonably priced considering your location. We tended to have lunch here and head to Fisherman’s Village for dinner when it had cooled down slightly.
Happy hour is on every night for 2 hours, during which time you can get two cocktails for the price of one or a bucket of Chang or Singha beer.
Facilities Near By
Right next to the hotel entrance is a supermarket similar to a 7 Eleven offering you all the basics that you might need. On the main road there are restaurants, cafes, nail salons and lots of places to get a cheaper massage if you don’t want to pay the hotel’s slightly inflated prices.
Why We Loved Peace Resort
Peace Resort offers a truly relaxing environment right on the beach. The moment we stepped into the resort we were looked after by the extremely friendly staff who would literally run to help you whenever you needed something.
The whole atmosphere of the resort was one of understated luxury and tranquility and the beautifully tended grounds make you feel like you are surrounded by nature, despite being just off the very busy main road – you would never know!
If you just want to chill out for a few days by the pool and drink cocktails by the beach as the sunsets, its the perfect place for you. When you get bored of the peace and quiet, the buzzing night life at Fisherman’s Village is only a stones throw away.
