Seminyak is home to some of the finest restaurants in Bali. Though if you like to travel, you’ll appreciate that it’s not all about fine dining. As a food enthusiast I love to experiment with local dishes, international cuisines, and everything in between – I found that Seminyak had some of the finest food I’d eaten during my visits through Asia.
No matter the time of day, or how relaxed or exemplary the setting, there are so many options to choose from when in Seminyak.
From traditional Balinese cuisine to international favourites, here are 12 of the best restaurants in Seminyak you simply cannot miss, each of them bringing something different to the table – quite literally.
Our Favourite Place To Stay In Seminyak
The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa is the perfect place to stay to be able to sample some of the best restaurants Seminyak has to offer.
It occupies a prime beachfront location, close to all the action in Seminyak but offers a relaxing and calm retreat. Its elegant gardens, sunken bars and infinity pool with ocean views only add to its luxurious and exclusive feel.
1: Bambu
Let’s start with Bambu, a unique setting that surrounds you with glimmering waters while you dine. When you’re taken to your table, a pretty walkway guides you over the water to your seat, setting the tone for a unique evening.

Bambu brings modern design and traditional Indonesian architecture together, illuminated with twinkling lights that dance on the water – it really is a beautiful setting.
The ambience is quiet and sophisticated here, though not pretentious in any way.
The menu invites you to try classic Indonesian dishes that have a creative spin of flavour to them. I had the beef rendang which was rich in taste, as well as a fresh, aromatic salad.
The food is presented so well that it’s almost a shame to eat it, but once you have a taste you find yourself worrying much less about how pretty it looked.
The service here is very professional and efficient, yet personable. I visited a second time a few days later, and the staff remembered me, even recalling what I had ordered previously – now that’s service.
Dinner service begins at 6pm, so it’s a perfect spot for a dazzling evening meal.

2: Warung Nia
Now to somewhere very different – Warung Nia in Seminyak, which offers some of the best Balinese food you can find.

Located in the centre of Seminyak, this restaurant is known for its budget-friendly meals and delicious combinations.
The staff members are disciplined and helpful, showing excellent teamwork and commitment to their guests.
I tried their pork ribs first, which were tender and full of flavour.
Warung Nia is a top choice if you’re in search of more traditional Indonesian dishes. The rendang and sate babi were especially noteworthy, both bursting with rich spices and authentic tastes.
They also offer Balinese cooking classes here. I didn’t get the chance to try these, but I’d love to. Imagine learning the secrets of Balinese cuisine from skilled chefs, and using them back home.
Perhaps I’ll have time to take some classes on my next visit, and if so I’ll be sure to tell you all about it here.
Overall, Warung Nia is an experience not to be missed for any food lover visiting Seminyak.

3: Sea Circus
Sea Circus is a bright and colourful venue in Seminyak. It certainly matches up with its name, with its marine colours and psychedelic edge.

The place has a fun, beachy vibe, both indoors and outdoors, and is a great spot to relax with friends or family.
The menu here is equally vibrant. The avocado toast and fresh smoothie were delicious, and I highly recommend the fish tacos if you’re there for lunch.
Sea Circus offer a good mix of both healthy options and indulgent treats, so whichever mood you’re in, you’ll find something deliciously good from their menu.
The staff were wonderful, offering helpful recommendations and excellent service.
Sea Circus also has a bar with a decent selection of creative cocktails. I played it safe with their tropical cocktail, which was refreshing and punchy, and perfect for the warm Bali weather.

4: Kilo Kitchen Bali
Kilo Kitchen Bali is a pretty, earthy, trendy venue. The luscious greenery surrounding the chic decor made the whole establishment feel secluded yet open and airy all at the same time.

The atmosphere here was relaxed – it ticks all the boxes for a high-end meal and drinks in a casual setting.
The menu at Kilo Kitchen Bali has a unique twist to Asian cuisine with its Latin American inspiration. There’s a generous variety of starters to choose from, including the raw and salad options. The waitress recommended sharing these – they’re great as sharing platters.
Their mains are also delightful. The menu is adventurous, so get ready to try some diverse influences and be pleasantly surprised by the blend of tastes.
Even the desserts and cocktails are eccentric and unusual, and all sensationally presented.

5: Naughty Nuri’s Warung Seminyak
Now this place is a must-visit for anyone in Bali – Naughty Nuri’s Warung in Seminyak.

Their best-seller is their signature ribs, which are marinated in Balinese spices and glazed with their famous BBQ sauce. Of course, I had to try them.
Each bite was so tender and succulent, and though there are plenty of dishes to choose from, this had to be the one to go for. They call them “sticky babies”, and they were unreal.
Naughty Nuri’s is a favourite for many celebrities, and I’d read that American chef Anthony Bourdain had labelled their Martinis as the best in the world outside of New York. So I opted for one myself from their cocktail bar.
If you can handle four of these or their Margaritas, your name gets carved into the Nuri’s Wall of Fame. Alas, with a generous 110ml measure of vodka (or gin), I did not achieve this accolade, though thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
The atmosphere at Naughty Nuri’s is lively and welcoming. So much so, I didn’t want to leave my table.

6: Boy’N’Cow
Boy’N’Cow in Seminyak is a must, especially if you love red meat – it easily made it onto the list of best restaurants here.

The steaks are sourced from sustainable farms in Australia and the United States, and the quality of the beef is on another level. Boy’N’Cow use a unique method of dry-aging the meat for 28 days, and you can certainly taste the difference.
Watching the chefs prepare the steaks on the charcoal-fuelled gaucho grill is an experience on its own. They’re all incredibly skilled at what they do. Their ‘art’ in preparing, cooking and carving different cuts was fascinating to watch.
Their signature rub gives the steak a distinctive flavour that you won’t find anywhere else.
The restaurant looked typical of a ‘red meat’ kind of setting, with a warm, dark decor of reds, rustics, and copper, plus added drama from the chefs working in the kitchen.
For those who want to enjoy Boy’N’Cow at home, they offer a Meat Shop where you can order your favourite cuts. Each steak comes with their special blend of herbs and spices, so that you can (almost) recreate the restaurant experience yourself.

The ambiance here is both relaxing and sophisticated – it’s a special place to visit, without feeling stuffy. The modern decor adds to the atmosphere with a touch of Balinese charm.
The seafood dishes at Seasalt are a must-try. I went for the grilled snapper, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully.
Seasalt use only fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and you can tell this in the quality of the dishes, which are also presented to a very high standard.
The staff were great, too. They were prompt, knowledgable, and made sure every detail was taken care of.
So if you love a beach as a backdrop, Seasalt is a great spot to soak up the views and flavours of Bali all at once.

The atmosphere here is inviting and laid-back, with decor that feels fresh with a strong oceanic theme.
The shrimp dishes here are really good. The grilled shrimp was really good and perfectly seasoned. I also recommend the shrimp cocktail – it’s fresh, tangy, and delicious.
There are plenty of seafood options as well as shrimp here. If you’re not sure what to choose, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and will make some suggestions to find a dish you’ll love.
So if you’re in Seminyak and craving seafood, or want to try it for the first time, Shrimpis is a great suggestion.

9: Mexicola
Mexicola is a beautifully decorated Mexican restaurant, and the place to be if you’re looking for somewhere lively to go.

With its vivacious decor and buzzing Mexican vibes, it’s the perfect place to enjoy with friends, or even if you have children in tow.
I loved their tacos, and their cocktails are also well-crafted – the margaritas especially. It’s a fun place for both food and a night out, with live music and a dance floor.
Service is friendly and efficient – staff members are upbeat and attentive, and worked hard to make sure we were having a good time.
Do always check how long you have your table for, as I overheard a table nearer the dance floor being moved for a reservation, and that there’s a minimum spend if you’re only there for drinks.

10: Chandi
Once again we’re changing scenery, this time shifting into somewhere more serene and elegant – Chandi, a popular spot in Seminyak.

You’ll get a modern yet inviting atmosphere here, with sleek, wooden accents and stylish lighting. You can either sit outside for a fresh breeze, or indoors with air conditioning.
The menu offers a selection of Pan-Asian dishes, all of which looked immaculately prepared and presented. I recommend the satay – it was tender, flavourful, and perfectly prepared.
The cocktail selection during Happy Hour was impressive too, offering classic and Insta-worthy creations.
Chandi is trendy and slick, but with a an incredibly welcoming, friendly atmosphere mostly radiating from the wonderful staff. They were attentive, kind, and very knowledgeable about the menus.
Chandi is a beautiful scene to enjoy some fine dining for lunch or dinner, or even just a few drinks.

11: The Plantation Grill
The Plantation Grill in Seminyak is designed to impress, with its luxurious setting atop the Double-Six Luxury Hotel.

This location is exquisite and perfect for a special occasion, with a stunning view of Double Six Beach.
The 20s-theme decor gives this restaurant a rich luxury, yet the atmosphere is friendly and warm. When I visited, there was an opera singer who sang beautifully around the restaurant, making it a memorable evening.
If you love seafood and meat, this restaurant will be a great option. I tried the grilled lobster and it was unbelievable, with a rich, buttery taste.
The service at The Plantation Grill is top-level. The staff are incredibly professional and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend the perfect wine pairing for your meal.
I found their attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction outstanding.

12: Mauri Restaurant
Mauri Restaurant is something rather special. It’s in the middle of a busy road in Seminyak, so the switch to such a calm atmosphere was rather surprising.

It has an elegant Puglia-style interior, with a serene ambience. The clean tones with earthy furnishings are like not many restaurants I’ve seen before.
The renowned and very talented Chef Maurizio Bombini is behind the success of this restaurant. Originating from Apulia in Southern Italy, he brings authentic and contemporary Italian cuisine to Bali, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.
Each dish looked picturesque, and as I expected, the food was sensational.
The staff at Mauri were exceptionally hospitable and attentive, ensuring that every need was met. This level of service, combined with the exquisite food and serene environment, makes Mauri a must.
I also noted how reassuring they were to a nearby guest who had a severe seashell allergy. They were all confident in their ability and accommodated her needs with ease – she looked overwhelmingly relieved.
I loved dining here at Mauri – its classy interior, fine dining, and professional service tick all the boxes.
