Family-Friendly Amenities

When staying in Bangkok with family, it’s essential to choose a hotel that offers amenities designed to keep children entertained and parents relaxed. Below are some of the key family-friendly facilities that make a hotel stay enjoyable for all members.

Kid’s Club and Activities

Many hotels in Bangkok feature Kid’s Clubs where children can participate in a variety of activities. These clubs often have arts and crafts, interactive games, and storytime sessions. For example, the Shangri-La Hotel offers a comprehensive Kid’s Club with themed days and outdoor play areas. These programs ensure that children are engaged and entertained, providing parents with some much-needed free time.

Interactive activities such as cooking classes or cultural workshops allow kids to learn and have fun. Some hotels even have dedicated movie rooms or game rooms. These facilities provide a safe environment, allowing kids to make new friends and enjoy their own holiday adventures.

Swimming Pools and Water Parks

Many family-friendly hotels boast impressive swimming pools and sometimes even water parks. The Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, for instance, features a large pool area with a dedicated children’s pool and splash zones.

Dining Options for Families

Bangkok offers a variety of dining options that cater specifically to families. Many restaurants feature kid-friendly menus and can accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, ensuring that every member of the family has a pleasant dining experience.

Kid-Friendly Menus

When dining out with children, having access to kid-friendly menus is vital. Many restaurants in Bangkok understand this need and provide meals that appeal specifically to younger diners.

One place I recommend is Sizzler, known for its wide-ranging menu that includes options like chicken tenders, mini burgers, and spaghetti. These meals are portioned and spiced just right for kids.

MK Restaurants also offers a fun experience with its hotpot dining, where children can enjoy selecting and cooking their ingredients. With noodle dishes, veggies, and light soups, it is both engaging and healthy.

Additionally, Greyhound Cafe provides creative yet simple dishes like fish and chips, and chicken wings, ensuring even the pickiest eaters will find something they like.

Allergy-Friendly Options

For families dealing with food allergies, finding safe dining options is essential. Bangkok’s restaurant scene is increasingly aware of this and offers various allergy-friendly choices.

Banyan Tree’s Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar have chefs who are diligent about accommodating allergies. They prepare meals that can be adapted for gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free diets.

Eat Me Restaurant is another excellent option. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive to allergy concerns. Their menu frequently includes items that are naturally free from common allergens, like grilled seafood and fresh salads.

Lastly, Broccoli Revolution caters to a variety of dietary needs. This plant-based eatery ensures dishes are free from common allergens and cross-contamination, making it a safe bet for many families.

Transportation and Accessibility

Staying in one of Bangkok’s family-friendly hotels ensures easy access to transport options and proximity to popular attractions, making your stay more enjoyable.

Shuttle Services

Several family-friendly hotels in Bangkok offer shuttle services to make your travel easier.

For example, the Shangri-La Hotel provides a complimentary boat shuttle to the nearest BTS station, Saphan Taksin. This ensures a seamless connection to the rest of the city.**

Similarly, the Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort has shuttle boats that take you directly to Asiatique, a popular night market with various shops and dining options.

These hotels typically have air-conditioned vans or boats with schedules that align with major attractions and shopping centres. The staff usually assist in planning your day and provide information on shuttle timings. This feature is especially useful for families with young children or elderly members who may find public transportation challenging.

Proximity to Attractions

Many family-friendly hotels in Bangkok are located close to major attractions, reducing the time spent commuting.

For instance, the Chatrium Hotel Riverside sits by the Chao Phraya River. This offers easy access to the Grand Palace and Wat Arun via river taxi.

Another example is the Centara Grand at CentralWorld, which is connected to CentralWorld shopping mall. This hotel allows quick access to shopping, entertainment, and dining without needing a taxi or public transport.
