Agadir, a beautiful coastal city in Morocco, offers visitors dining experiences that blend traditional Moroccan flavours with international cuisine. From beachfront cafés to charming local restaurants, this city has something to satisfy every palate and budget.
If you’re planning a trip to Agadir, these are our eight favourite restaurants, combining exceptional food, atmosphere and authentic flavours.
Whether you’re seeking fine dining experiences or authentic Moroccan cuisine, this guide will help you navigate Agadir’s impressive restaurant scene.
1: Dar Tajine
The owner of the villa we were staying in recommended a restaurant called Dar Tajine, which is not far from Souk El Had in the centre of Agadir. After exploring the souk we headed to this traditional Moroccan restaurant to take a break from the chaos of the souk.

The restaurant’s speciality is, unsurprisingly, their tagines. Unfortunately, by the time we’d haggled to our hearts content in the souk, they had run out of tagines, but they offered us something similar instead which was just as good and possibly something we would never have tried. It was slow cooked beef, so tender it fell apart, served in a delicious sauce and accompanied with traditional flatbreads.
Although my husband and I love trying the local cuisine, our daughters are not always as keen, so the fact that Dar Tajine also serves pizza, hamburgers and grilled dishes, made it perfect for us. Our daughters both opted for burgers which they said were really good and they tasted some of the food we had ordered as well.
The decor in Dar Tajine is simply stunning with intricate patterned tiles on the wall and huge chandeliers hanging from the beautifully decorated ceiling. The service was friendly and there were a good mix of locals and tourists alike, which I always think is a good sign.

2: Pure Passion
We spotted Pure Passion on our first day in Agadir while wandering around the marina and exploring the seafront. It has a great position with views out across the marina and inside is elegantly decorated with dark walls and chandeliers.

We started our meal with a selection of seafood dishes to share which were all delicious and came in very generous portions. My daughter particularly enjoyed the crab and prawn croquettes and we loved the mixed seafood.
For mains we sampled a whole range of different dishes, beautifully cooked fillet steak, seafood pasta and some delicious lemon sole.
While not the cheapest option in Agadir, the quality of food, elegant atmosphere and stunning location make Pure Passion well worth the price. I particularly enjoyed their mint tea service at the end of our meal – a perfect finish to the night.

3: Ma Poêle Smoke House
Tucked away in a little square in Agadir, Ma Poêle deserves all the praise it receives. This small restaurant has a small outdoor seating area, which quickly filled up while we were there, and when you taste the food you can see why.

The restaurant’s smoky flavours and perfectly cooked meat are a treat, not to mention all the delicious homemade sauces and salads that they are served alongside. They also have their own pizza oven which was a great option to keep the kids happy.
The atmosphere at Ma Poêle is warm and welcoming, making it ideal for casual lunches and evening meals.
What impressed me most was their attention to detail. From the perfectly crafted sides to the house-made sauces, everything shows care and expertise. We were very glad we wandered away from the seafront and found this little gem.

4: Herguita
Located along the Promenade Tawada in Agadir, Herguita offers a range of different food, such as grilled meats, tagines, salads and it was our favourite place to have breakfast.

During our stay we visited twice once for lunch and also on our last morning for their amazing breakfast.
For lunch, I tried their tagine with locally caught fish, which was perfectly seasoned with traditional spices and served with fluffy couscous. The rest of the family tried a selection of meat skewers which came with chips and some interesting Moroccan dips and sauces.
After trying what they had to offer for lunch, and seeing other people having traditional Moroccan breakfast, we decided to return on our last morning to try one out for ourselves. The breakfast comes with lots of option which are all very reasonably priced. I had msemen (Moroccan pancakes) with honey, cream cheese and almond butter, a couple of pastries, an omelette, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice for the same price as a coffee at home! All with a sea view and excellent service.
The outdoor seating area offers lovely views of the promenade, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely breakfast or lunch while people-watching. It’s also the perfect spot to watch the sunset while enjoying a drink or an early dinner.

This unique restaurant offers an authentic taste of Middle Eastern cuisine that stands out in Morocco’s dining scene. The aromas of freshly baked bread and grilled meats hit you the moment you walk through the door. With a menu that features a diverse selection spanning Iraqi specialities, shawarma, pizza, and hamburgers there is something for everyone.
We visited at lunchtime and as soon as we were seated we were given a complimentary selection of dips and bread to enjoy while we waited for our food. I enjoyed their shawarma wrap, which was packed with tender meat and fresh vegetables and my husband had the mixed shawarma plate which was huge and came with chips, salads and pickles.
Their juices were a hit with the kids who enjoyed strawberry and kiwi juices that were freshly squeezed.
With great service, delicious food and great sea views its definitely somewhere I’ll be returning.

6: L’ardoise Gourmande
We stumbled upon L’ardoise Gourmande while exploring Agadir and were immediately charmed by this elegant restaurant on Boulevard Hassan II. The name, which translates to “The Gourmet Slate,” perfectly captures the restaurant’s approach to refined dining.
The menu offers a wonderful fusion of Moroccan and French cuisines, with each dish beautifully presented.
I tried their seafood tagine, which was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavour.

Service at L’ardoise Gourmande really stood out. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, happy to explain dishes and make recommendations, with some very fussy customers (my two daughters).
I appreciated how they paced our meal perfectly, allowing us time to savour each course.
Their pretty outdoor area is perfect in the evening, I love alfresco dining and don’t often get the chance at home, especially in February.

7: Ô Playa
After reading the reviews, we couldn’t resist visiting Ô Playa during our trip to Agadir. Located right on the beachfront, this restaurant offers a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean.
The seafood here is exceptionally fresh. I tried their grilled fish platter which was beautifully cooked, with the catch of the day served alongside local herbs and spices. The flavours were authentic and delicious, capturing the essence of Moroccan coastal cuisine.

The restaurant’s modern design with traditional Moroccan elements, creates a relaxed yet sophisticated environment. As the sun set over the ocean, the golden hour transformed the restaurant into a magical setting.
Though popular with tourists, I noticed many locals dining here too – always a good sign.

Tucked away on Boulevard du 20 Aout, Le Jardin d’Eau offers excellent food that blends French and Moroccan cuisines.

The restaurant features live music, which makes it perfect for a romantic meal, we were lucky to escape for one night out without the children.
The dishes were all beautifully presented and a delicious combination of French and Moroccan flavours. I really enjoyed how they had incorporated Moroccan spices into French cooking techniques.
The service matches the quality of the food, with attentive staff who seem genuinely interested in ensuring guests have the an amazing night.
It’s clear why this restaurant has earned its place among Agadir’s best restaurants and it was a perfect place for a special meal.

Cost Of Eating Out In Agadir
Eating out in Agadir is surprisingly affordable compared to many European destinations we’ve visited.
A typical dinner at a beachfront restaurant can cost around £15 (approximately $21) plus tip for two main courses and a dessert, making it quite reasonable for holidaymakers on a budget.
For those seeking even better value, I recommend exploring restaurants away from the tourist hotspots.
The Marina, La Cote, and Agadir Bay areas tend to be pricier, so maybe head to neighbourhoods like Hay Salam instead.
Local eateries like Bab Agadir offer delicious couscous at affordable prices with generous portions.
The price range for most mid-range restaurants is typically between 50-150 Dirhams (£4-£12.50) per meal.
This makes it entirely practical to eat out for every meal during your stay without breaking the bank.
Remember that prices vary based on location and whether alcohol is included in your meal, as alcoholic drinks tend to increase the bill significantly.
