7 Best Hotels in Seminyak Bali

Share This Post:

Seminyak, Bali, is home to some of the island’s most stunning beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and atmospheric nightlife.

The hotel you choose to stay in is perhaps the most difficult decision to make. Location, atmosphere, views, amenities and service make all the difference to your Bali experience.

Our Favourite Hotel

We loved our stay at the Potato Head Suites with stunning ocean views you can wake up to the sound of the waves.

The resort offers the perfect combination of relaxation and quiet, with the Beach Club’s lively ambience only a stones throw away.

During my visit, I had a good look around to find the 7 best hotels in Seminyak. They are all unique, so whether it’s luxury, comfort, or a budget-friendly option you’re looking for, here’s a great place to start.

1: The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa

The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa is in a prime beachfront location that soaks up the very best of Indonesian sun.

This hotel is close to all the action of Seminyak, yet its exclusivity and elegant gardens feel like it’s miles away, making it a great place to unwind and take in the views.

It’s furnished with class, contemporary decor and traditional Balinese touches.

Their infinity pool is one of its main features – stretching 10m x 45m, it looks over the beach with the most incredible ocean views. The sunken bars and premium sun beds add even more luxury.

The food here is great too, offering a range of Asian and European dishes to choose from. I especially loved their breakfasts, and their carefully crafted cocktails.

The fact you’re only a short walk away from some of the best restaurants in town is also a bonus, especially if you’re like me and want to venture out now and again.

The resort can create unique packages here, such as the 100 Candle Romantic Dinner, the Seaside Escape Package, and the Kahyangan Spa – great add-ons for a special occasion or to simply make the most of your stay.

It’s also a stunning venue for a beach wedding. Its very own Purnama Chapel is set against Bali’s coastline and sunsets, for the perfect backdrop.

That being said, every guest is made to feel special here. The service was top-tier throughout my stay, and I’d love to return one day.

2: Kayumas Seminyak Resort

Kayumas Seminyak Resort is a fantastic spot offering a quiet location right in the middle of Seminyak.

When I stayed here, I loved how close it was to all the local restaurants, lively nightlife, local attractions and shopping spots. The best of Seminyak can be explored with ease from here.

This hotel is elegant and comfortable, and just moments from the beach. The rooms are spacious with surprisingly high ceilings, and very clean. I stayed in a poolside room which was very peaceful.

The pools are on the smaller side compared to other resorts, though they didn’t appear crowded and the swim-up bar is brilliant. You only really get sunshine on the main pool in the morning, though the shade was welcome in the heat.

The staff here at Kayumas Seminyak Resort are excellent. From room service to dining, bars and reception, every single staff member went the extra mile, and had a friendly manner.

The food here is also fresh and flavourful, with plenty of options to choose from, all of which were well stocked.

Overall, if you’re looking for somewhere with more intimate pools in relaxed premises, spacious rooms and easy access to both the beach and town, Kayumas Seminyak Resort is a great choice.

3: Potato Head Suites & Studios

Potato Head Suites & Studios is absolutely stunning. I loved it here.

This resort is adjoined but separate to the Beach Club, which is open to anyone (though very difficult to get into). People flock here for the great music and sensational views.

However, this is separate to the resort and its pools, which are exclusive to guests only. They focus on wellness and relaxation during your stay, so with the Beach Club and the resort together it feels as though you have the very best of both worlds.

The design of this resort is very unique. With its commitment to sustainability, the rooms and all the facilities are modern yet modest, with a perfect blend of comfort and style.

I stayed in the Oceanfront Studio, which had a spacious lounge area and stunning ocean views to wake up to, so close you can even hear the waves. There’s also the the Katamama Suite, which has a private rooftop garden, jacuzzi, and those ocean views.

The Family Suite has a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. Each bedroom has its own entry door, ensuring privacy.

The Pool Suite is also a fantastic option, with a private decked pool and a freestanding bath. All rooms are quiet despite the Beach Club’s lively ambience.

Special mention has to go to the staff – every single one of them in this large resort were on point with their attitude, personality and care. The poolside service was exceptional.

Potato Head Suites & Studios also offer pretty good deals, such as the “Escape For Five Nights And Save More” and the “Book Early And Save More”. Overall, Potato Head tries to be unique, and succeeds. I’d definitely love to return here.

4: The Anvaya Beach Resort

The Anvaya Beach Resort Bali is a beautiful hotel set right on the beachfront, inviting you to step out directly onto the sands.

The buildings and decor are elegant and charming, with a blend of ancient and modern Balinese architecture. The atmosphere is serene here, although there’s also plenty to do for children, with some decent entertainment on offer.

There’s a five-star feel about this hotel, and that extends into the restaurants – dining at The Anvaya was an absolute delight. Kunyit Restaurant offers traditional Balinese dishes, while Sands Restaurant gives a more modern dining experience by the beach.

The rooms are fresh, spotless and spacious, especially the bathroom. The room led right into the pool, which was well maintained and had an excellent pool bar.

All the staff make every guest feel special – The Anvaya does very well in creating a personable feel to this luxury hotel.

5: TS Suites Seminyak

TS Suites Seminyak is a little further down from the main part of Seminyak, which is perfect if you want to have a little distance yet still be close to the action.

This hotel is often a hit with its guests, and it was for me too. It’s set in a magnificent part of Seminyak, with an hourly shuttle that takes you into where all the local attractions and trendy restaurants are.

The pools here are excellent and soak up plenty of sunshine throughout the day, with cabanas if you need shade. The hotel’s rooftop pool catches some wonderful views of Seminyak – make sure you check them out, especially at sunset.

The breakfast I had here was lovely. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to trial their other menus during my visit, as I headed into town and returned for some of the resort’s cocktails later in the evening.

The rooms are spacious with modern amenities, are very clean, and styled to be comfortable and relaxing with edgy patterns and furnishings.

TS Suites is surprisingly lively in the evening, with a DJ by the pool that really gets everyone in the mood. They host some fun activities and events here, with very helpful and accommodating staff to help you make full use of them.

If you’re looking for a beautiful location for relaxation as well as some excitement and celebration, TS Suites is a strong contender.

6: Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak

Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak is a gorgeous little oasis here in Bali. I fell in love with the earthy aesthetics of this hotel – it made me feel calm yet spoilt all at once.

It takes about 30 minutes to walk from here (or a 10-minute scooter ride) to the buzz of Seminyak, which I quite liked – a tranquil escape that’s in reach of all the action. It’s an easy 10-minute walk to the beach, too.

The hotel itself is such an idyllic location. It’s beautifully designed and surrounded with enchanting gardens that make it feel like a secret hideaway.

The rooms are also five-star, with very comfy beds (hard to find in a lot of hotels!). They’re cleaned and presented to a very high standard, and look so unique compared to many hotels I’ve stayed at before.

As part of the included breakfast, you get a complimentary floating breakfast which was amazing. The food overall was really good – plenty available, and all to a high standard.

The service here from the friendly staff also gets top points. Whether I was lounging by the pool or dining at their restaurant, I felt truly pampered. You also get a complimentary massage, and it was the perfect treat on my last day to top off a memorable stay here.

7: THE HAVEN Bali Seminyak

THE HAVEN Bali Seminyak is a resort that’s right on the beach and in the middle of Seminyak, though it’s surprisingly quiet here.

The Haven in Seminyak Bali sign outside, loungers by the beach and swimming pool surrounded by lush vegetation

This really took me by surprise as it’s on a busy road, so I expected it to feel equally ‘busy’ behind THE HAVEN’s walls. And though you could be seated in a restaurant that embraces the vibrancy of the town it overlooks, the whole resort feels set back from it all, and you can barely notice any noice from the other side of the resort.

I would, however, recommend asking for a suite at the quieter side, if you’re particularly keen for a silent night. The resort offers different room variations: rooms at the front of the hotel, villas in the middle of the resort with a private pool, and at the back you’ll find the larger suites.

All the suites are very spacious, clean, and elegantly designed, with a comfy bed and excellent amenities. I’d say it’s certainly worth upgrading if you can – the villas are huge, including the private pool.

The hotel offers two swimming pools which are both great, with the one at the back by the villas especially luxurious.

The food here is excellent throughout the day, with plenty of variety and good quality.

Service is another high point at THE HAVEN. They were all wonderful here and work hard to ensure you have a great time. They also put on some live music in the evenings, which was superb, and made for a wonderful atmosphere.

Location Advantages

I think I’ve put together a decent collection of hotels to consider for your visit to Seminyak. They all have something different about them, but they all tick the boxes for the absolute Seminyak must-haves. Once you have found your perfect hotel explore your dining options with our restaurant guide.

Proximity to Beaches

Seminyak’s beaches are some of the most stunning in Bali. The famous Seminyak Beach is just a short walk away from most of these hotels, if not right on top of them. They offer the best views, and allow you some extra freedom to enjoy the best of what Seminyak has to offer.

A couple of the most luxurious spots on the beachfront here are chic beach clubs like Ku De Ta and Potato Head Beach Club .

The waves and sunsets are not only breathtaking to watch, but are also adored by surfing enthusiasts. And if you don’t like surfing, you’ll enjoy watching them tackle the waves while you sip on a cocktail.

If you’re looking for a quieter beach, Petitenget Beach is a little treasure. This beach is also home to the Petitenget Temple, one of the very few centuries-old temples left.

Nearby Attractions

Besides the beaches and Bali sunsets, there is plenty to love about Seminyak.

Boutiques lining Oberoi Road, also known as Eat Street, offer plenty of high-end shopping opportunity. This area is packed with designer stores and unique local shops.

If you have a love for art, you can visit the Nyaman Gallery, which features cultural collections of contemporary Indonesian and international art.

For dining, you’re in a real hot spot of trendy bars, cafes, and exquisite, world-class restaurants. And after some memorable dining, the nightlife in Seminyak offers upscale bars and nightclubs to make the most of every evening here.

Dining and Nightlife

The food and nightlife scene plays a huge part in Seminyak’s popularity. It’s incredibly varied in its offerings, combining local and international experiences, gourmet dining at stylish restaurants, and trendy bars and clubs to dance the night away.

Top Restaurants

My favourite dining spot in Seminyak is the renowned Sarong restaurant. Sarong serves an exquisite blend of Asian flavours and is well-known for dishes like the lamb shank curry. Its elegant setting and exceptional service make it a must-visit.

Another top choice is Merah Putih, which has a passion for modern Indonesian cuisine. This restaurant offers a sophisticated atmosphere and beautifully presented dishes such as crispy duck and rendang.

For a casual yet delightful meal, I recommend La Lucciola. Located right by the beach, it serves fantastic Italian cuisine, including seafood pasta and wood-fired pizzas.

If you are into seafood, Bambu is the place to be. Their prawn curry and grilled fish dishes are simply mouth-watering.

With so many restaurants offering a whole parade of culinary experiences, Seminyak is a food lover’s paradise.

Bars and Clubs

Seminyak’s nightlife has something for everyone.

Potato Head Beach Club is of course a favourite for sunset cocktails and night-time partying. The club’s beachfront location and live DJ sets create an unforgettable vibe. Though be warned, they don’t take bookings, so arrive early.

Another great spot is Ku De Ta, famous for its stylish setting and a mix of local and international DJs.

For a more local experience, I recommend Jenja.

This club features impressive décor and a mix of EDM and house music. It attracts a trendy crowd and promises a high-energy night out.

Mexicola inside
Mexicola is located right in Seminyak and is the place to be most nights

Motel Mexicola offers another unique vibe, with its eclectic Mexican-themed décor and tequila-laden cocktails. The dance floor comes alive with a mix of retro and contemporary tunes.

Cultural Experiences

Amongst all the diversity Seminyak has to offer to tourists, let’s not forget that its characterful culture is the beating heart of this beautiful location.

Local Markets

Seminyak’s local markets are an absolute must. The Seminyak Flea Market is a hive of interesting stalls offering authentic Balinese crafts, textiles, and souvenirs.

I found stalls filled with intricate wood carvings, handmade batik fabrics, and unique jewellery.

There are also plenty of food vendors at these markets. Fresh tropical fruits such as mangosteens and dragon fruit are available, and the aroma of local street food like satay and nasi goreng fills the air.

Bargaining is customary here, so it’s a great place to practice your haggling skills.

Seminyak Square Market is another destination worth exploring for more upscale items. This market offers a blend of international and local designer boutiques. I enjoyed browsing through quirky home décor shops and finding unique gifts to take back home.

Traditional Performances

Balinese dance performances are an integral part of the cultural landscape in Seminyak. The Kecak dance is held regularly at venues like the Petitenget Temple. It captivates with its dramatic storytelling and hypnotic chants.

This ancient form of dance narrates stories from the Ramayana, an epic Hindu legend.

The La Lucciola Restaurant often hosts traditional Legong dance performances. The dancers’ intricate hand movements and expressive facial expressions depict tales of Balinese folklore.

I was mesmerised by the performance. It’s fantastic to enjoy a delicious meal while being entertained by such an exquisite cultural showcase.

Many hotels in Seminyak, such as the W Bali – Seminyak, also organise weekly Balinese dance shows for their guests.
