Doncaster has had a bad rap in the past but things are finally looking up for the city. Yes, you read that right – as of summer 2022, Doncaster has been awarded city status, much to the delight of its residents.

I’ve always loved Donny and couldn’t wait to see what it had in store for my bottomless brunch trials there. Here’s what I found:

The best bottomless brunches in Doncaster – independent restaurants

After my experience in Harrogate where I struggled to find independent places that offered bottomless brunches, I was surprised to find the opposite in Doncaster. Here are the independent establishments I tried.

Jazz Café

5-7 Printing Office Street, Doncaster, DN1 1TJ

The Jazz Café is a modern café in the heart of Doncaster. As its name suggested, it’s jazz themed. This was the first bottomless brunch experience I had in Doncaster and I was impressed as soon as I entered. This is a really comfortable place where you can relax and be at ease.

The bottomless brunch offering is unlimited prosecco, cocktails beer, cider and mocktails for 90 minutes. Not only that but you also get unlimited pizzas, dirty fries and other sides during your 90 minutes too. So although it’s not ‘brunch food’ per se, it’s a great offer, nonetheless.

The price is a little expensive at £34.95 per person, but you certainly won’t be left hungry! If you’re desperate to have pornstar martinis included in the offering, you can upgrade for £5.

For those who don’t fancy pizza, there’s another option too: the raclette bottomless brunch. Instead of eating pizza, you get bottomless cheeses, cold cuts of meat and vegetables to grill yourself at the table! This costs £39.95 but certainly makes for a different experience.

Since we’d never tried a bottomless raclette before, we chose to splash out and try this option. We were thoroughly impressed with our meal and definitely over-indulged!

Our verdict

The bottomless brunch raclette at Jazz Café was excellent and as this was the first venue we tried in Doncaster, the bar was set very high indeed!

The Harewood

28 The Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3EY

The Harewood is located right in the civic and cultural quarter of Doncaster near the Savoy cinema. It has a fantastic reputation for its food and entertainment and has heaps of space. There’s an outside space with firepit tables and rattan furniture, three floors indoors with a bar and relaxed dining downstairs, a restaurant, shisha bar and secret terrace on the first floor and a private dining room on the top floor.

The bottomless offering here is ‘bottomless bubbles and beers’ and it costs £25 per person for 90 minutes. With this offer, you can have as much prosecco and bottled beer as you like and you’ll also get a selection of both hot and cold tapas.

Food items include serrano ham, cheese, olives, pickles, hummus, ciabatta, Spanish tortilla, chorizo, garlic mushrooms and mussels. So, although again this isn’t strictly a brunch, we felt it was too much of a good offer to miss!

Our verdict

The Harewood offered a great experience and we loved the food. For £25, it was a really reasonable offering and we weren’t left hungry. If you don’t like prosecco and beer or want a cocktail, you might want to look elsewhere.

No.7 at the Rum Rooms

7 Market Road, Doncaster, DN1 1LS

https://no7therumrooms.co.uk/

No. 7 at the Rum Rooms is a popular destination for cocktails, entertainment and bottomless brunch. The reviews about this brunch were amazing so we couldn’t wait to try it out for ourselves. For £28 you get an item from the menu and bottomless drinks for 90 minutes.

The menu is ‘brunchy,’ which we liked after previously trying the Jazz Café’s raclette and The Harewood’s tapas. Menu options include bagels, baguettes and pancakes. We opted for the Mediterranean vegetable baguette, which came with smashed avocado and the pork baguette, which came with stuffing and parsnip crisps.

Drinks-wise, you have a choice of prosecco by the glass, bellini, mimosa, and draught lager. You can also have non-alcoholic lager, juices and soft drinks. If you want to include Aperol spritz, dark and stormy and gin and tonic, you’ll need to pay an extra £10 per person.

The offer is available between 11:30 am and 3 pm on weekends.

Our verdict

The food was great (great parsnip crisps!) and there were enough drinks choices for us to not feel the need to splurge on the upgrade. We did think £10 extra for three more choices was a little too expensive too!

Cactus Jacks

18 Hall Gate, Doncaster, DN1 3NA

https://www.facebook.com/cactusjacksdoncaster/

Cactus Jacks is a Tex-Mex restaurant in Doncaster. Its bottomless brunch deal is available between 11 am and 5:30 pm. For £29.95 you can get free-flowing draught lager or prosecco with a selection of sample items from their extensive menu. If you want to add cocktails, you’ll need to pay another £10 per person. The booking is for 90 minutes.

We love Mexican food so were very excited to see what food came out at Cactus Jacks. We’re not sure if the samples you’re given vary depending on the day but we were pleased with what was brought out to us to enjoy with our drinks.

We had some Cajun mushrooms, chicken wings, nachos, loaded potato skins and Mexi rice.

Our verdict

Since this isn’t the sort of brunch where you order a meal per person, we were a little nervous as to what we’d be given (and whether there would be enough) but we were pleasantly surprised and weren’t left hungry at all. It’s perhaps not the place to try if you’re more of a fussy eater, though.

The Townhouse Bar & Restaurant

9-13 Market Place, Bawtry, Doncaster, DN10 6JL

Heading over to Bawtry, we went to The Townhouse as we’d heard good reviews about this place.

Their bottomless offering isn’t a brunch at all, but we still felt it worth trying just because the reviews were so good. The Fizz Friday bottomless prosecco deal is only available on Fridays from 6pm (yes, so not a brunch at all…) but you get 2 hours of free-flowing prosecco alongside a meal from the main menu for £30 per person.

For our food, we chose chicken Thai green curry with rice and prawn crackers and crispy pork belly. The food was truly exquisite! The only items that require a supplement are steaks, which cost an extra £10.

Our verdict

It was unusual for us to try a bottomless deal on a Friday evening but the reviews weren’t wrong! We loved the food and the atmosphere at the Townhouse and it was a great experience overall.

The Plough Inn

2 High Street, Arksey, Doncaster, DN5 0SF

Arksey is a little village just outside of Doncaster and it’s home to The Plough Inn, a hotel, bar and restaurant. Every Friday and Saturday, the Plough Inn offers a two-hour bottomless lunch where you can enjoy a main meal alongside unlimited drinks. The best part of this is that it costs £25 all in!

When we heard about this deal, we couldn’t wait to try it! You can choose anything off the menu apart from the grill menu and the choices of drinks are prosecco, house spirits & mixer, house wines, and draught Carling or John Smiths. You can even choose the Plough Sharing Platter for your party if you’d rather and you can upgrade to include any drink for an extra £5 per person.

When your two hours are up, you’ll also get a shot of sambuca or a Jager bomb to round things off nicely.

Since this is quite a traditional-style pub, we decided to eat pub classics. We chose the scampi and steak pie to accompany our drinks.

Our verdict

We loved the homely feel of the Plough Inn and this traditional pub certainly made a change from the more ‘insta-worthy’ establishments that tend to offer bottomless deals. The food was great and the two hours of free drinks with a Jager to round off was great.

The best bottomless brunches in Doncaster – chains

We were so impressed with the range of independent places in and around Doncaster that we only tried one small chain and one large chain place. Feast is a local chain with just two places in the Doncaster area while Yates is a huge chain – but one that we hadn’t yet sampled in our quest to find the best bottomless brunches!

Feast

7 High Street, Hatfield, Doncaster, DN7 6RS

We’d heard good things about the Feast bottomless brunch so headed to the Hatfield Feast with high expectations.

The deal is available on Fridays and Saturdays between 11 am and 2:15 pm and costs £30 for 90 minutes of unlimited drinks plus one brunch dish off the menu.

The food choice was great – so much so that it took us a considerable amount of time to decide. In the end, we went for the cheese steak and the chorizo hash. Both dishes were well received. We also choose to get a side of Cajun wedges too, which were also tasty.

Drinks-wise, you can choose from Feast fizz, Apricot Spritz, strawberry mimosa, gin fizz, prosecco, bottled beer and soft drinks. For an extra £5, you can upgrade to the full drinks menu. We chose not to do this as we felt the choice was great already.

Our verdict

We enjoyed our bottomless brunch at Feast. Unlike some of the Doncaster establishments we tried, this felt like a proper brunch and was exactly what we were looking for. It’s definitely worth a trip to Hatfield!

Yates Doncaster

58 Hall Gate, Doncaster, DN1 3PB

https://www.greatukpubs.co.uk/yates-doncaster/food-and-drink/bottomless-brunch

Since we’d never tried a Yates bottomless brunch and it’s available for £20 per person, we decided to try the one in Doncaster. This offer is available on Saturdays and Sundays and you get 90 minutes of free-flowing drinks alongside your brunch dish.

The choice of dishes is a full English or veggie breakfast, a breakfast wrap, or scrambled eggs. You can pay a £3 supplement to include an even bigger breakfast, a seasoned beef burger, a coated chicken burger or a plant-based burger. We chose a veggie breakfast and a breakfast wrap.

The drink choices include prosecco, Carling, Foster’s, Strongbow, Strongbow Dark Fruit, and fruit juices. If you want to include pornstar Martini, pink gintini or Aperol spritz, it will cost you a further £10 per person.

Our verdict

We have to say it, Yates wasn’t that special in terms of a bottomless brunch experience. It’s the sort of thing you might do for a casual shopping trip or hair-of-the-dog rather than for a special occasion. That said, for £20, it was fine. After all, this is one of the cheapest offers around and, as they say, you get what you pay for.

Verdict

Doncaster is really up and coming. There are so many great places for bottomless brunches and we found it much easier to research compared to Harrogate and Bradford, for example. If we had to pick a winner, it would be No. 7 at the Rum Rooms for its food and drink selection. The Jazz Café raclette was a very close second though!

Harrogate is a favourite destination of mine for special days out. It’s a wonderful town with a range of nice shops, great restaurants and historic spa baths. Come in the winter and you’ll find a great Christmas Market too.

I love all that Harrogate has to offer and couldn’t wait to try out its range of bottomless brunches. Here’s my verdict on the best bottomless brunches in Harrogate.

Bottomless brunches in Harrogate – small chains

When you come to somewhere like Harrogate, you want a unique experience. For this reason, I was keen to find out what the independent restaurant scene had on offer in terms of bottomless brunches.

Despite a great range of independent establishments, we didn’t find any that offered bottomless brunches. As such, we started with the small chains.

The Barologist

https://www.thebarologistharrogate.co.uk/bottomlessbrunchharrogate

The Barologist offers creative cocktails, two hours of bottomless brunch and a spacious central Harrogate venue that suits all occasions. It delivers a strong mix of atmosphere, variety and value, supported by its interior filled with weather themed inventions that give the venue its character.

The brunch package costs £38pp per person and includes unlimited drinks for a full two hour sitting. The list features favourites such as Pornstar Martini, Espresso Martini, Strawberry Daiquiri, Purple Haze and Aperol Spritz, along with prosecco, wine, draught beer and soft drinks. The extended two hour window makes the session feel relaxed rather than rushed.

The food menu offers wide choice. Guests can pick from the Full English, Barologist Bennys, burgers, vegetarian or vegan breakfast, mac and cheese, chicken wings, nachos and several small plates. The range works well for groups with different preferences.

The venue also hosts themed brunches across the year including Nineteen Eighties and Queens of Pop. These events add playlists, decoration and signature drinks which create a fun atmosphere. Service is quick, food portions are generous and the two hour limit provides clear value. They also provide cocktail masterclasses for those who are looking for a creative experience.

Our verdict

The Barologist is an exceptionally strong option for bottomless brunch in Harrogate. It has a broad menu, an impressive drink list and themed sessions that help it stand out. It is ideal for groups who want a lively and enjoyable brunch experience.

Mojo

49-51 Parliament Street, Harrogate, HG1 2RE

https://www.mojobar.co.uk/harrogate

Mojo is a small chain based in the north of England and the Midlands with seven establishments in total. This is more than just a restaurant – it has a whole range of entertainment too. Besides its bottomless brunches, it offers live sports, shuffleboard, beer and prosecco pong and cocktail masterclasses.

There are different bottomless brunch packages. The Gold package costs £30 per person and includes unlimited Amstel, prosecco, mimosa, strawberry spritz, blood orange spritz, bloody Mary, sodas, juice and coffee. For £40, you can enjoy the Platinum package, which includes pornstar martinis, Mojo blue, espresso martinis, mango margarita, spiced run truffle, strawberry daiquiri, morning glory and green bay as well as the Gold drinks. Finally, if you’re feeling flush, you can enjoy the diamond package for £100 per person. This includes unlimited Taittinger champagne as well as all of the Mojo cocktails.

The food options include eggs benedict or Florentine, BLT with fries (veggie options), waffles and pancakes. You also have the options of ordering from the main menu.

Bottomless brunches are available every day and you can enjoy 90 minutes of bottomless drinks. We decided to choose the Platinum option to try a wider range of drinks. The BLT was delicious and a good size. We also tried the waffles with berry compote and ice cream, which was also tasty.

Our verdict

We really enjoyed our Mojo experience, though we felt that the Gold package would have been adequate. I’m not sure how many people opt for the Diamond option, though it’s no surprise that this is available in a high-end place like Harrogate!

The Foundry Project

1-1A The Ginnel, Harrogate, HG1 2RB

https://foundryproject.com/harrogate.html

There are only three Foundry Projects – one in Harrogate, one in Manchester and one in Edinburgh – so this establishment has an almost independent feel to it. We loved the atmosphere and décor here as it made the whole experience feel quite special and unique.

The bottomless brunch offering is great! For £36, you can have any dish from the brunch menu plus two hours of unlimited prosecco, house lager, mimosas, bellinis, Aperol spritz or bloody Marys. The food choices include chicken and waffles, a full English, Turkish eggs, double sausage and egg bun or a bacon and egg bun. There are also upgrades and sides you can add on.

We chose the Turkish eggs, which were poached eggs with chilli, semi-dried tomato butter, Greek yogurt and grilled sourdough bread. This was one of the tastiest brunch options we’ve had for a while! We also tried the chicken and waffles, which was equally as tasty.

Our verdict

The Foundry Project food was a real treat, and the two hours unlimited drinks was much appreciated. We definitely felt that this was worth the £36 and would certainly return here.

Banyan Bar

3-4 John Street, Harrogate, HG1 1JZ

https://www.banyanbar.co.uk

Banyan Bar and Kitchen is a small chain restaurant with establishments scattered through the north of England. The Banyan bottomless brunch is perfect for couples or groups. The bottomless brunch offer is available until 4 pm and comes with a choice of dish and 90 minutes of unlimited drinks.

Brunch food options include breakfast has, poached eggs, French toast, smashed avocado and poached eggs, or a vegan breakfast hash. You can also pay £5 more for more lunch-style dishes, which include an onion bhaji wrap, a chicken schnitzel, a ciabatta steak melt, a couple of different burgers and a revitalise bowl.

Included in the cost of your bottomless brunch, you’ve got unlimited prosecco, bloody Mary, Aperol spritz, poached pear spritz, apricot and grapefruit fizz, strawberry fizz and Coors. There are also nice non-alcoholic options like cucumber and apple crush and passionfruit and ginger spritz.

We tried the vegan breakfast hash, which included sweet potatoes and pomegranate seeds and poached eggs with hand-carved ham. Both options were delicious.

Our verdict

Our brunch at Banyan was great. We really enjoyed the food and the wide range of drinks choices. It was great to have some special non-alcoholic options beyond the usual sodas and juices too.

Manahatta

The Ginnel, Harrogate, HG1 2RB

https://www.manahatta.co.uk/bars/harrogate

Manahatta is a small-chain establishment that’s well known for its cocktails, bottomless brunches and New York vibe. If your Harrogate bottomless brunch is for a special occasion, Manahatta is an excellent choice. It is set over two floors and is awash with neon signs, booths in peacock blue and instagrammable cocktails.

The bottomless brunch deal is available until 4 pm and costs £29.95 for a meals and 90 minutes of unlimited drinks. Food options include a NY club bagel, which contains grilled chicken, pancetta, Monterey Jack cheese, gem lettuce, tomato, mayo and house fries, smashed avocado and poached eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches. The NY club bagel and the smashed avocado and poached eggs can both be made vegan. It costs an extra £5 if you’d like to choose off the lunch menu rather than the brunch selection.

We tried the ‘You Had Me at Halloumi’ bagel, which came with mango chutney, crispy onions, gem lettuce and house fries. We also tried the ‘Cheesy On The Eyes’ dish, which was a melted Monterey Jack and cheddar grilled cheese sourdough sandwich with basil pesto, spinach and sweet roast peppers. This was incredible! It also came with a slaw salad, which was tasty too.

The drinks options are extensive too with unlimited prosecco, Bloody Mary, Aperol spritz, strawberry spritz, apricot and grapefruit spritz, Orchard apple spritz and Coors.

Our verdict

We enjoyed Harrogate’s Manahatta bottomless brunch. We’d already been to the Manahatta in York so we choose different food options this time. However, the whole brunch item is heavy on cheese so might not suit all tastes. Thankfully, lunch items can be chosen too for a little extra.

Bottomless brunches in Harrogate – large chains

Though Harrogate is a smaller town, you’re not short of popular large-chain restaurants either. While some people might be initially put off by going to a large chain place for bottomless brunch, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the offers in Harrogate.

The Ivy Harrogate Brasserie

7-9 Parliament Street, Harrogate, HG1 2QU

https://www.theivyharrogate.com

Just a little disclaimer here – The Ivy doesn’t do bottomless brunches! However, we still wanted to mention this place as a special place to have brunch simply because it’s outstanding and such a treat.

The brunch menu is available on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays between 11:30 am and 4 pm. With choices like salt and pepper squid tempura, warm crispy duck salad, buttermilk pancakes and lobster and prawn benedict, it really is a feast for your senses.

The drinks menu has a range of great options like mimosas, Bloody Marys and strawberry and rhubarb royal, which is strawberry and rhubarb purée stirred into The Ivy Champagne! With no set cost for brunch and drinks, the price you’ll pay will largely depend on your food and drink choices. You can come here and spend £20 on a dish and a couple of drinks. Equally, it would be very easy to spend upwards of £50 (the lobster linguine, fillet of beef and rib-eye on the bone are all around £35 each).

Since we were coming for brunch, we chose items from the brunch specials section. We had Belgian waffles with crushed avocado, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce and eggs benedict with hand-pulled ham hock, which came with chips. Both means were exquisite, and we certainly felt special in the atmosphere of The Ivy.

Our verdict

The Ivy was a real treat. We did spend more here than we would at other bottomless brunch places in Harrogate but that’s to be expected. What we liked about this place was the huge variety of food available, which made choosing very difficult! Where else could you get spicy tuna maki rolls on a menu with shepherd’s pie!

The Harrogate Arms

11 Parliament Street, Harrogate, HG1 2QU

www.crafted-social.co.uk

Though The Harrogate Arms is part of the large Stonegate Company, it really has more of an independent vibe. If you want to go somewhere with a friendly local pub feel, this is the destination of choice.

The bottomless brunch here is very reasonably priced and it’s also won the Best Bottomless Brunch MIDAS award in 2023. For £28, you get a two-hour session of unlimited drinks with your meal.

Food options include burgers (beef, buttermilk chicken, grilled chicken, no-beef soya, Quorn buttermilk-style fillet, some special burgers are £5 extra), smashed avo crumpets, waffles, full English (veggie and vegan options too), pizza (special toppings £5 extra), breakfast wrap, quesadillas and more. Alongside your bottomless drinks, you can also pay £5 to include bottomless wings too.

The drinks options are just as extensive as the food menu. You can choose from three lagers, two ciders, prosecco, tiki sunrise, raspberry cooler, ex on the beach, four gins with mixers (including Fever Tree). For an extra £5 per person, you can upgrade drinks to include Tanqueray gins, a larger range of lager and craft beers and five additional cocktails.

We chose the breakfast wrap and Mex-melt quesadilla. The breakfast wrap was a beet tortilla with bacon, Cumberland sausage, fried egg, hash brown, grated cheese, salsa and guacamole. The quesadilla was vegan and contained veggie sausages, hash brown, no-chicken nuggets, grated mild Sheese®, avocado, salsa and guacamole. Both were tasty.

Our verdict

The food at The Harrogate Arms was great and there were so many different options. We loved that even with upgrades to food or drinks the price is really reasonable. The drinks offered for the £28 were great and we didn’t feel the need to pay the extra.

Verdict

Harrogate is a great place for a day our or weekend away and we were spoilt for choice with the number of bottomless brunch options available here – there’s many more like Slug & Lettuce and Pitcher & Piano that we didn’t to try on this occasion too. It would have been nice to find some independent places offering bottomless brunch but for a small town, there are still plenty of options!

I have a confession to make: prior to visiting Hull for my first bottomless brunch there, my only experience of this city was The Deep, the city’s famous aquarium that’s home to some 7,500 marine animals. Needless to say, I was excited about what this place had to offer.

Hull is a renowned ‘City of Culture’ with an impressive arts scene, an interesting history and a diverse selection of lively venues and watering holes to match. Nestled on the Yorkshire coast with the historic River Humber providing a picturesque backdrop, Hull has numerous great bottomless brunches to try. Don’t miss out on experiencing it for yourself!

Bottomless Independent cafes and restaurants

As a first-time visitor to Hull city centre, I couldn’t wait to visit its independent offering. Visiting here was great because I had no preconceptions or prior experiences of venues. As such, I felt that my experiences here were truly authentic.

Here are the independent bottomless brunch venues I visited and what I thought about them:

Bar82

16 Princes Dock Street, Hull, HU1 2LP

Bar82 is located next door to Princes Quay and on a warm day, you can take in the sea breeze in their outdoor courtyard. There are two unique bottomless offerings at Bar82.

The first is a standard bottomless brunch, which is available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 12 pm and 4 pm. For £33 per person, you get a choice of one brunch dish and unlimited brunch drinks and cocktails. The drinks include Bloody Marys, Aperol spritz, mimosas, Bug Light, Limoncello spritz and soft drinks. You get 90 minutes of unlimited drinks. You can pay £5 extra for a premium upgrade, which includes gin, vodka and mixers.

The food menu wasn’t extensive (there were just seven dishes to choose from) but there was still a good variety of options, including eggs benedict, eggs royale, pancakes, bagels and burgers.

The second bottomless brunch offer is a private bottomless party for groups of 15 or more. This costs £38 per person and you get to enjoy unlimited drinks and stone baked pizza for 90 minutes, all in the comfort of a private dining room. Drinks include vodka and mixer, gin and tonics, Bud Light, Aperol spritz, mimosa, Limoncello spritz, prosecco and soft drinks. The pizzas are margarita, pepperoni, chicken supreme and veggie supreme. You can even request a vegan option.

When we visited, we went for the standard bottomless brunch. We ate the breakfast bagel, which came with bacon, cheese, hash brown, poached egg, tomatoes and hollandaise. It was delicious. We also tried the eggs benedict, which came with sourdough and serrano ham. Again, this was very tasty indeed.

Our verdict

We were pleased with the service at Bar82 and loved the range of drinks on offer here with the standard menu. We didn’t feel the need to pay an extra £5 for vodka or gin. The food was great, thought we would have liked a wider variety on the menu.

Cáscara

38 Prestongate, Hessle, HU13 0RE

https://www.cascara.co.uk/

We heard great things about Cáscara so even though it was six miles out of Hull in Hessle, we really wanted to try it out. This place is known for its parrilla grills that are fuelled by charcoal and wood.

Their bottomless brunch is great value for money. For just £25 you get 90 minutes of bottomless beer, Aperol spritz, Bloody Marys, mimosas, prosecco and bellinis. For an extra £5 per person, you can upgrade your drinks to include espresso and pornstar martinis.

You can choose from a range of dishes, including huevos rancheros (eggs cooked in rich braised tomato, chilli, pepper, garlic, and tortillas), tacos, and steak and eggs.

We tried the breakfast grill and the French toast. The grill was a sausage patty, rosti, streaky bacon, black budding morcilla and fried egg, which was great. The French toast came with dulce de leche and berries. We loved how these dishes were both typical breakfast items but with a Hispanic twist.

Our verdict

We enjoyed Cáscara and the South American flair to the bottomless brunch. If, however, you’re staying in Hull city centre, it’s perhaps better to choose something closer. For locals, though, it’s a great option.

The Treehouse Bar & Restaurant

3, The Weir, Hessle HU13 0SB

Going to The Treehouse Bar & Restaurant is an experience in itself. Like Cáscara, it’s situated in Hessle and offers beautiful décor and general good vibes. The bottomless brunch is available every Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm.

There are lots of menu options available, making choosing a difficult choice! There’s a brunch section with things like full English, avocado toast, breakfast burgers, eggs benedict and more. This is available from 10-11:45. Then from 12, you need to choose from the lunch menu. This includes delicious offerings like crab and prawn linguine, halloumi avocado wrap and a fried chicken sandwich.

The offer costs £30 per person for brunch or £33 for lunch. For this you get a choice of dish plus two hours of drinks. Drinks options include mimosa, prosecco, Aperol spritz, Corona, draught lager and soft drinks. You can pay a £10 supplement for an upgrade to include pornstar martinis.

We tried the vegan breakfast because we really wanted to try the herby fresh pea fritters and we weren’t disappointed. We also tried the breakfast burger as this was served in a pretzel bun, which was a nice take. The food was lovely and we were tempted to return another day to try the lunch options.

Our verdict

Coming here was a feast for the senses. It’s a very insta-worthy establishment adorned with garlands of ivy, neon lights and pink blossom so if you enjoy getting beautiful snaps of your bottomless brunches, it’s worth heading out of the centre to Hessle for this.

Silvers Bar

21 Silver Street, Hull, HU1 1JG

https://www.silversbarhull.co.uk/

Silvers is a unique concept of dining and drinking. Here, they cater for between ten and 300 people. There are private rooms or suites to hire for whatever event it is you’re celebrating. Though the establishment doesn’t technically offer bottomless brunch, if you’re a large group wanting something similar, this original experience is great.

They offer a buffet menu for less than £10 per person. This includes things like satay chicken skewers, special fried rice rolls, sandwiches, quiche, samosas, salads and crisps. The food needs to be ordered in advance. As for drinks, you can either buy drinks as you go or take up one of their great offers like 6 bottles of prosecco for £60, beer buckets, a bottle of vodka or Jägermeister with 8 cans of Red Bull for £90, or a bottle of Jack Daniels with jugs of coke. So, although this isn’t bottomless, you can certainly get enough booze in for a reasonable price.

There’s normally only a couple of us trying out bottomless brunches to write these reviews but this time we had to find a few more people to bring along – it wasn’t hard roping people in, of course! We loved the variety of food in the buffet and the fact it was private.

Our verdict

If there’s a large group of you wanting a bottomless brunch, then this should be a consideration as well. They even have private rooms so you can enjoy your event more privately. Having to choose drinks and quantities made things a little less relaxing than an all-in bottomless brunch but this didn’t deter from the experience at all.

The Gardener’s Arms

35 Cottingham Road, Hull, HU5 2PP

https://www.thegardenersarmshull.co.uk/

This is a cheap and cheerful bottomless brunch offer that’s slightly further out from the centre of Hull. The Gardener’s Arms offers bottomless brunches every Thursday to Sunday between 12 pm and 4 pm (though on Thursday and Friday it goes on until 5 pm).

This is one of the cheapest bottomless brunches we’ve found at £25 per person. For this you get unlimited prosecco, mojito, sex on the beach, Guinness or Carling as well as bottomless pizza. You can pay a £5 supplement per person to include Aperol spritz and Peroni.

The pizza flavours include BBQ chicken supreme, garden party, margherita or pepperoni. The booking is for 1.5 hours.

Our verdict

We really liked the Gardener’s Arms. It was a great way to start our weekend. Having bottomless pizza alongside the bottomless drinks was really good and for a bargain price too!

Small chains

Hull had a lot of independent bottomless brunches on offer but we also had a great experience at this small chain restaurant.

Sleepers Bar & Kitchen

47-49 Newland Avenue, Hull, HU5 3BG

https://sleepersbar.com/

This is as ‘small chain’ as you can get. There are only two Sleepers establishments, the one in Hull and one just down the road in Beverley.

This venue is famous for its bottomless brunch. It has a quaint seating area where you can enjoy a laid-back bottomless brunch with your friends. For £30 per person, you get one meal and unlimited drinks for 90 minutes. The menus for both food and drinks are extensive. You can take up this offer every day apart from Sunday with the last sitting being at 1 pm apart from Saturday when it’s 2 pm.

Food options include chorizo and poached eggs, lime and chilli chicken toasty, Thai chicken rice bowl and brie and red onion chutney. There are plenty of gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options too. For an extra £2 you can add things like halloumi strips, sausages, toast, hash browns, chorizo, cheese, bacon and avocado. Sides are available at £4 each and include deep-fried pickles, seasoned chips and sweet potato fries.

Drinks options include sex on the beach, pink flamingo, Captain Morgans tiki and lemonade, St Germain and lemonade, prosecco, house draughts and soft drinks.

We chose the smashed avocado and poached eggs, which came on a delicious toasted ciabatta, and the lime and chilli chicken toasty, which was served with seasoned chips. Both dishes were tasty. For drinks, I was keen to try the St Germain and lemonade, which is an elderflower liqueur and not something often found on bottomless brunch menus.

Our verdict

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Sleepers and it certainly felt small-chain and attentive. It was a great price with a great variety of foods and drinks.

Large Chains

We’re often a little bit wary of the ‘samey’ feel to bottomless brunches in large chain establishments but we must say that we still take them into consideration because they often have a winning formula that really appeals. We made sure to try one large chain bottomless brunch and we weren’t disappointed.

The Beech Tree (Ember Inns)

Southella Way, Hull, HU10 7LS

The Beech Tree is one of around 150 Ember Inns establishments in the UK. It’s situated between Hessle and Willerby and is a great place to stop after a day of visiting Hull’s attractions. There’s a sunny beer garden and it has a great local pub feel.

The bottomless brunch offer is available Saturday and Sunday between 10 am and 2 pm and the best part is, it’s only £20 for two hours!

Food options include sausage sandwiches, egg sandwiches, a brunch burger, smashed avocado on toast, eggs benedict and more. We went for the grilled Belgium waffles with bacon and maple syrup and the brunch burger, which consisted for a beef burger with bacon, pork sausage and a fried egg in a brioche bun. It was heavenly!

If you pay the £20 per head, you’re entitled to unlimited prosecco but if you fancy Peroni, Aperol Spritz, or Sex on the Beach, you’ll need to pay a £5 supplement. Still, £25 is a great bargain too.

Our verdict

This is definitely the sort of place for a ‘hair of the dog’ brunch! We loved the food and the price was fantastic. This is one of the cheapest bottomless brunches we’ve had but it certainly didn’t feel that way.

Verdict

Hull is a city brimming with culture and charm, and its bottomless brunch scene is not to be missed. The city’s roots as a port town, serving as a hub for alcohol merchants from all over Europe, are still evident today. I loved exploring what Hull had to offer. It’s safe to say that this city boasts a thriving bar and restaurant scene and has truly mastered the boozy brunch experience.

If I were to pick a favourite, it would be Sleepers because the menu variety was great both for food and drink options. I can’t believe I’d never ventured into Hull before trying its brunch scene – it’s definitely somewhere I’m keen on returning.

Being a stone’s throw away from Leeds, I visited this city on a number of occasions as a student (mainly to visit the Alhambra Theatre). I didn’t, however, try out any bottomless brunches. Besides the fact that they didn’t really exist around 20 years ago, Bradford is particularly famous for its curry houses and so I would always try out those instead.

As it had been over 16 years since I last visited Bradford, I was keen to see how the city had developed and whether or not its bottomless brunch offering was as good as its neighbour’s over in Leeds. This is what I found out in my search for the best bottomless brunch in Bradford…

best bottomless brunches in Bradford – independent cafes and restaurants

When I was first researching where to go for bottomless brunch in Bradford, I found it quite a challenge. None of the usual chain restaurants that offer bottomless brunches seem to be present in the city, which for many is a good thing. There were a number of independent places, however, and I couldn’t wait to try out what they had to offer.

Rum Shackalack

9 North Parade, Bradford, BD1 3JL

I loved the feel and vibe of the North Parade in Bradford. It felt unique to this city. There were two independent bottomless brunch offerings in this area and the first I tried was Rum Shackalack. This venue is inspired by a love of rum and has a Caribbean feel. Since its inception, it has become the place to come for rum cocktails in Bradford.

Rum Shackalack has an impressive bottomless brunch deal. For two hours, you get a choice of main dish, a dessert and a huge range of drinks. All for just £30! It is available Tuesdays to Saturdays between 12-2 pm, 3-5 pm and 6-8 pm.

The food options include chicken enchiladas, chilli nachos, burgers and more. There are plenty vegetarian and vegan options. Dessert choices include raspberry ripple and Flake cheesecake, chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing and warm cookie dough with ice cream. However, it’s the range of drinks that are the most interesting and unique! You have a choice of cocktails like Woo Woo, Aperol Spritz, Pina Colada and more. Then there’s prosecco, spirit and mixer (with a huge range of spirits), cask ale, Thatchers or Amstel. This really is the biggest range of drinks we’ve seen on a bottomless brunch menu.

We chose the breaded chicken and garlic mayonnaise and the pulled jerk jackfruit on a bed of jerk rice. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and cookie dough. All of the food was great!

Our verdict

We thoroughly enjoyed our bottomless brunch at Rum Shackalack. The price, the timings and the range of drinks were all excellent. It was also nice to have dessert included too, which was something we’d never had before. The only thing we’d like to have seen was a vegan dessert offering but all round, it was a fantastic experience.

Groove Pad

48 Saltaire Road, Shipley, Bradford, BD18 3HN

https://www.groovepad.co.uk

Just a few miles north of the centre of Bradford, Groove Pad Bar & Kitchen offers a number of great events as well as bottomless brunch. Their bottomless brunch costs £30 per person for 90 minutes.

You can choose from cocktails, wines, prosecco, spirits and more.

The food options include gourmet beef burgers, chicken breast burgers, vegan burgers, gourmet hot dogs and street food. We choose a Mexican Dog, which included chilli salsa, Monterey Jack smoked cheese, tortillas, jalapeños, guacamole and sour cream. It was a really interesting take on a hot dog and we loved it. We also tried the Swiss mushroom chicken breast burger, which came with fried mushrooms, mayonnaise and Swiss cheese. This was also really tasty and the mix of chicken, mushrooms and cheese went together really well.

Our verdict

We really enjoyed the food and drinks at Groove Pad. The place itself was really quiet when we visited so there wasn’t much of an atmosphere. However, it was still worth the trip out of the city.

The 6 Acres

119 Westgate Hill Street, Drighlington, Bradford, BD4 0SF

https://the6acres.co.uk

It’s rare these days to find an independent pub – and even rarer to find one that does a bottomless brunch with cocktails! This restaurant is famous for its range of food on offer and it prides itself on sourcing food locally and using top-quality ingredients.

The bottomless brunch costs £29.99 for 90 minutes of unlimited drinks. You can choose three small plates per person or choose a sharing combo platter that serves two people. The choices of small plates includes chicken wings, garlic bread, cheesy fries, garlic mushrooms and chicken strips.

Drinks-wise, you can choose from pornstar martinis, pink gin and lemonade, cheeky Vimto, Dark Fruits cider, 6 Acres Apple Combo, Carling, mimosa and pink prosecco. You can mix and match your drinks as you go.

Our verdict

We really enjoyed our bottomless brunch at The 6 Acres, especially the range of drinks we could choose from. Given the extensive menu of the restaurant itself, we would have liked to have a wider choice of food options. However, what we did have, we thoroughly enjoyed.

Villain Bar

80A Commercial Street, Brighouse, HD6 1AQ

https://villainbar.co.uk

We decided to include Villain Bar in our list of the best bottomless brunches in Bradford even though it’s in Brighouse and has a Huddersfield postcode. However, it is only 7 miles and a 20-minute drive from the centre of Bradford so we thought it deserved a mention since it’s quite unique. As its name suggests, the experience here is centred on all your favourite villains!

Bottomless brunch is available here Monday to Thursday between 11:30 am and 2 pm, Friday between 11:30 am and 7 pm, Saturday between 11:30 am and 4 pm and Sunday between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.

Diners get 90 minutes of bottomless drinks with your meal but there are several different packages to choose from. The standard package comes with prosecco, bellini, bucks fizz, Aperol spritz, Thatcher’s Haze Gold, Magners Dark Fruits and Coors. This costs £20 per person on Monday to Thursday and £25 per person from Friday to Sunday. The cocktail package includes a choice of Sex on the Beach, Blue Lagoon, Harley Quinn, Kryptonite and Bloodline cocktails. You’ll pay £25 per person on Mondays to Thursdays and £30 per person on Friday to Sunday.

The food choice is great too. You’ve got burgers that include beef, salt and pepper chicken and southern fried halloumi. Then there’s truffle mac n cheese loaded fries, salt and pepper loaded fries, tandoori grilled chicken flatbread or crispy halloumi flatbread. We chose the truffle mac n cheese loaded fries, which were to die for! We also had the crispy halloumi flatbread, which was also delicious.

When booking, you need to have your food order ready, which can be a bit of a challenge.

Our verdict

We loved the truffle mac n cheese loaded fries! They were definitely a unique bottomless brunch offering and a real taste sensation! Our experience here was great and it was certainly worth the little bit of travelling to get here.

The best bottomless brunches in Bradford – small chain

When we looked for places to go for bottomless brunch in Bradford, we found that most of them were actually independent places. We did find one small chain offering though (although it’s in Bingley again). Here’s what we thought of it.

The Potting Shed Bar and Gardens (Bingley)

94 Main Street, Bingley, BD16 2JH

https://pottingshedbar.com/venues/bingley/contact

The Potting Shed has venues in Beverley, Guiseley and Northallerton as well as Bingley, so it’s a small chain establishment with an independent feel. The bottomless brunch offer is available on weekends between 1 pm and 2:30 pm or 3 pm and 4:30 pm.

The choices of drinks include pornstar martinis, prosecco, draught beer and cider, Aperol spritz and ‘shed’ on the beach. Along with your 90 minutes of unlimited drinks, you can choose a pizza, kebab or salad. There are a range of pizzas available and they’re all cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven. Choices include margherita, Nduja, garden pizza and diavola among others. Kebab choices include chicken, mixed, lamb, halloumi or steak. The salad choices are great too with options like chicken and bacon, halloumi and steak and blue cheese.

Our verdict

This bottomless brunch was one of the most expensive at £34.95 per person. However, we did have a great time and the food was delicious. If you’re prepared to travel out of the city but don’t want to go to Leeds, The Potting Shed Bar and Gardens is definitely a venue to try.

Verdict

Despite its status as the curry capital of the UK, Bradford also has some pretty great bottomless brunch options too. We really enjoyed trying out what this city had to offer and although we did travel further afield to sample some of the offerings, we were never disappointed with what we found. If we had to choose our favourite, it would be Rum Shackalack. This is because of the inclusion of such a great range of drinks as well as dessert!

When I first went to university in Leeds many people heard my accent and presumed I was from Newcastle (I’m actually from a small town between Middlesbrough and Whitby).

Up here, we’re known for never taking a coat or jacket with us on a night out – and I can confirm that was true until I reached my thirties! Newcastle holds fond memories for me so I was thrilled to be able to go and check out its range of bottomless brunches. Here are the best bottomless brunches in Newcastle that we tried:

Bottomless Brunches Newcastle – Independent Cafes & Restaurants

As always, we headed to the independent places first. Each city has something unique to offer and you’re most likely to come across it in the independent eateries – it’s why these establishments are usually our favourite. Let’s see what Newcastle’s independent cafés had to offer.

Aveika

10-15 Sandhill, Quayside, Newcastle Upon Time, NE1 3AF

https://www.aveika.co.uk

Aveika is a contemporary Japanese bar, grill and restaurant situated on the iconic quayside of Newcastle. This a unique experience offering modern reworkings of classic Japanese dishes. There’s distinct creativity and flair here and we found the whole experience spectacular.

The brunch is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and comes with bottomless prosecco or a pitcher of cocktail per person. The menu has a meat, fish and vegetarian option but besides that, you can’t choose. All of the meals come with three or four items as well as steamed rice and a sauce.

We went for the fish option, which was tempura king prawn, squid katsu, salmon teriyaki robata, and salmon and avocado temaki. The sauce was a delicious kimchi mayo. The food was exquisite and we really felt well looked after throughout the whole experience. The experience costs £34.95 per person and the bottomless prosecco is for 1.5 hours.

Our verdict

We enjoyed our bottomless brunch at Aveika. The only thing we were a little wary of was the limited choice on the menu as there was no way to mix and match what was on offer. We also would have liked a wider range of drinks on the menu. However, what we did eat, we really loved and would happily return here to try the other food options.

Cog and Wheel

131 Sandyford Road, Sandyford, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE2 1QR

The Cog and Wheel is a relatively new establishment that opened in the summer of 2020. This is an independent cocktail bar that offers a huge range of draught ales, ciders and beers as well as cocktails.

The bottomless brunch here is available between 11 am and 3 pm Monday to Saturday and also on bank holiday Sundays. However, on typical Sundays, they do a Sunday roast instead.

The bottomless brunch offering comes with two hours of unlimited prosecco, pornstar martini, tequila sunrise, espresso martini, Aspall or Coors. It’s possible to mix and match your drinks too.

What we really liked about the Cog and Wheel’s bottomless brunch is that they also do a non-alcoholic drink version that’s considerably cheaper. Usually, people who choose non-alcoholic drinks have to pay the same price so we really liked that they’d thought of this. What’s more, for the price and time, all options are really reasonably priced at £30 for alcohol and £17.50 for soft drinks.

The food menu is great too. We went for a Kevin Vegan (a pun on the footballer who played and managed Newcastle United) which was a mushroom and chickpea patty. We also tried the ‘the hills have fries,’ which was a dish of Cajun fries covered in their homemade ‘cog’ sauce, bacon flakes and cheese sauce. Both items were delicious.

Our verdict

The Cog and Wheel was definitely one of our favourites – the price, the timings and the food and the drink choices were perfect!

The Hudson

5-7 Grainger Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5DQ

https://www.hudsonnewcastle.co.uk/

The Hudson is an upmarket bar and restaurant situated inside the County Hotel. The establishment takes its name from George Hudson who was a 19th-century pioneering figure of the Northern Railway. As such, the décor takes its inspiration from luxury, historic railcars.

Like The Cog and Wheel, bottomless brunch is available every day of the week except Sunday. For £39.95 you get 90 minutes of bottomless prosecco or a cocktail pitcher as well as a food platter. There are vegetarian options too. The cocktails include pink gin fizz, summer sangria, Pimm’s & lemonade, godfather or watermelon twist.

We tried the vegetarian options, which included nachos, smoked paprika fries (delicious!) and tempura sweet potato and red pepper, among other things. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect too.

Our verdict

This is a great place to go if you don’t mind platter-style food. For drinks, we choose the watermelon twist and godfather cocktail pitchers and there was definitely enough to last the 90 minutes. If you’re looking for a unique atmosphere, The Hudson definitely provides that.

Jam Jar

88 Osborne Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE2 2AP

Situated in the fashionable and stylish district of Jesmond, Jam Jar is a gastropub offering comfort food and a great weekend bottomless brunch. For £30 per person, the Jam Jar bottomless brunch includes two hours of bottomless prosecco or Aperol spritz as well as one dish off the menu. If you don’t fancy alcohol, you pay just £16 per person for bottomless soft drinks, mocktails and coffee!

Menu items are of the typical breakfast variety and include the likes of shakshuka, avocado toast and eggs benedict. As usual, we go for the more unusual options so we tried the brioche French toast with white chocolate liqueur sauce and raspberries and the creamy mushrooms with prosciutto.

Our verdict

We loved the food at Jam Jar and really appreciate the cheaper virgin bottomless option for those who weren’t drinking alcohol. It really seems like Newcastle’s independent restaurants are the first of all the places and cities we’ve visited to offer a cheaper price for non-alcoholic bottomless options. Well done, Newcastle!

No. 28

27-29 Nelson Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5AN

No. 28 has a fantastic reputation. It’s received a Recommended status from Restaurant Guru and also appeared in High Life North’s best bottomless brunches article. In 2021, No. 28 was also given a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award. As such, we were keen to head here to experience the bottomless brunch for ourselves.

No. 28 offers both a bottomless prosecco brunch and a bottomless prosecco supper. The food served is Spanish-style tapas. You get to choose one option and then there are also patatas bravas, bread and salad for the table. The brunch is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm.

What we really liked about this place is that the price you pay depends on how long you want to stay. It costs £28 per person for 90 minutes or £33 per person for two hours. You can upgrade to pink prosecco for £2 extra or for £4 extra, Aperol spritz.

Food options include albondigas (meatballs), gambas (prawns), southern fried chicken and black pudding tempura fritters, amongst others. We went for the garlic mushrooms and croquettes with spinach and Manchego cheese, both were delicious – as were the patatas bravas.

Our verdict

I really liked the fact that you could choose how long you would like to stay and as I love Spanish food, this was a great place for me. However, the drinks options were limited compared to other places and it would have been great to have more options.

Prima

40-46 The Side, Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3JA

www.primarestaurant.co.uk

This Italian restaurant on Newcastle’s iconic quayside is a great place to start an afternoon. This restaurant is one of the most popular Newcastle Italian restaurants and is known for its lively and friendly atmosphere.

At Prima, the bottomless brunch is for 90 minutes and is served in the restaurants 3rd-floor lounge bar between 12 pm and 6 pm every day. For £35, you get a starter board with Parma ham, mortadella, salami, mozzarella, chicken liver pâté, tomato, olives with rosemary and olive oil pizza focaccia. Then, for mains, you’ve got your usual Italian foods like pizza and pasta.

Like many bottomless brunches in Newcastle, this comes with unlimited prosecco only, though you can pay an extra supplement for bottomless gin.

We ate the Kiev pizza, which was chicken, mushroom and garlic (and extremely delicious) as well as the penne salmone, which included smoked salmon, asparagus, tomato and cream. Going by the food, it’s easy to see why Prima is so well-known in Newcastle.

Our verdict

Prima’s food was delicious and we particularly enjoyed the antipasto starter as it’s rare to get a starter included in a bottomless brunch. Again, we would have preferred more drinks options but this definitely didn’t deter from our great experience here.

The Purple Peacock

55 Degrees North, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 6BJ

Our final independent establishment is the very insta-worthy Purple Peacock, which is located in the 55 Degrees North building in central Newcastle. This iconic location offers awe-inspiring shows, which include acrobatic events and themed night like Magic Mike and The Greatest Show. Unusually, The Purple Peacock calls its bottomless offering a ‘bottomless drunch’.

Unlike other bottomless brunches, you also get entertainment from performers like saxophonists, fire breathers or aerial artists while you eat. There are themed events like Grease Drunch, No Scrubs Drunch, Coyote Ugly Drunch, Single Ladies Drunch, and more. Many of them are sell-outs too, so it’s worth booking in advance.

The packages are available from 2 pm and cost £40. This includes unlimited house gin or vodka, prosecco, lager, pornstar martini, espresso martini, Aperol spritz and true blue. You can choose one platter one of four different platters per person. Platter C is suitable for vegetarians and vegans while platter D is gluten-free.

We went for platter B, which gave us bruschetta, salt and pepper squid and a Szechuan chicken bao bun. You can also pay extra for chips or salt and pepper fries.

Our verdict

Going to The Purple Peacock felt like a real treat and special event. We loved being able to eat and drink while being entertained! This is definitely somewhere we’d recommend for a group of people for a special birthday or event.

The best bottomless brunches in Newcastle – small chains

There were so many independent places we tried that we only actually tried out one small chain establishment in Newcastle – but it was an experience like no other. Here’s where we went:

Point Blank Shooting

117 Newgate Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5RZ

https://www.pointblankshooting.co.uk/

For a completely new experience combined with bottomless brunch, Point Blank Shooting is a small chain establishment focused on entertainment with delicious food on top. Besides their Newcastle location, there are also venues in Liverpool and Manchester.

With the Point Blank bottomless brunch, you get bottomless beer, prosecco and pizza for £35 per person for 90 minutes. You also get unlimited shooting of the targets too!

This was something we’d never tried before so we were keen to combine the two. Safe to say, the shooting accuracy was less accurate at the end of the 90 minutes compared to the start!

Our verdict

Though there are only three types of pizza on offer (Margherita, pepperoni and American hot), they were all delicious. Adding bottomless pizza and shooting to drinks was a great shout too as it felt like a really indulgent and fun experience.

Verdict

Newcastle has some great bottomless brunch deals and so many independent places to try. If you want to make an occasion out of it or be entertained, our favourites were definitely The Purple Peacock and Point Blank Shooting in this regard. If it’s more the food that interests you, The Cog and Wheel was delicious – and one of the only places with a good range of drinks too.

All in all, Newcastle has an excellent bottomless brunch scene and there’s no doubt we’ll be back to try out a few more!

Whether you’re local or are looking for a weekend destination, Sheffield is a great place for a spot of brunch – and if you are looking for a great bottomless brunch in Sheffield then you will be spoilt for choice.

This city has recently ranked number two in Time Out’s Best City Breaks in Europe for 2023 after Marseille in France – so why not see what the UK’s greenest city has to offer for brunch.

I scoured the city for the best bottomless brunch spots to present them in this article – it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!

Independent Cafes and Restaurants For Bottomless Brunches

Unlike many UK city centres that are awash with chain restaurants and cafes, Sheffield is home to a whole host of independent ventures, many of which offer bottomless brunches.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with a chain restaurant bottomless brunch (I enjoy many of them!) but sometimes you want something a little unique.

The following independent establishments offer the finest of bottomless brunches in Sheffield:

Deckards at Barrowboy

453 Abbeydale Road, S7 1FS

https://www.barrowboybar.com/

Situated outside of the city centre in Nether Edge, Barrowboy gained its name from the venue’s 100-year history as a grocery store. The bar’s owners envisaged creating the bar they themselves wanted to go to: an establishment for the neighbourhood and the ‘local’ that they wanted.

Barrowboy serves award-winning food supplied by Deckards who pair things like bao buns with Bloody Marys and mimosas. There are plenty of options for both vegans and vegetarians, including cactus tacos, which I guarantee you won’t have tried elsewhere!

For £29.50 you get two tacos or bao buns of your choice, nachos or fries, and bottomless drinks for 90 minutes. You can choose from a paloma (tequila, lime and grapefruit), sangria, a mimosa, bucks fizz, gin cooler and prosecco. If you’d like to drink Asahi Japanese Dry Lager, you can pay a £2.50 supplement.

The bottomless brunch is served on weekends between 12 pm and 4 pm and booking is essential.

Our Verdict:

I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch at Barrowboy. If you’re visiting Sheffield for a weekend and don’t have a car, it’s a short taxi ride away.

If you’re coming by car, it’s not the easiest place to find parking for, but there is some street parking available. Overall, Barrowboy was tasty and fun but brunch here is more like a standalone activity rather than one that leads into further exploration of the area.

Picture House Social

383 Abbeydale Road, S7 1FS

https://picture-house-social.co.uk/

Just down the road from Barrowboy is the former Abbeydale Picture House. This venue is home to some great events but every Saturday and Sunday between 12 pm and 4 pm, you can experience a bottomless brunch in Sheffield like no other.

Here, you can enjoy your food and drinks while listening to disco tracks by the resident DJs Johnny and Dan. The Picture House itself is a wonderful venue. If you don’t want to limit yourself just to its bottomless offering, it has a mini cinema, a ‘shuffle shack,’ a ping pong room and an outside terrace.

As its website states, it’s somewhat of a ‘Crystal Maze for hipsters’, and I totally agree.

For £34.95 per person, you get 90 minutes of unlimited prosecco, espresso martini, strawberry daiquiri, paloma, house larger, and soft drinks. You also get a starter, brunch and side included.

I really liked the menu here for its real ‘brunch’ feel. You can choose from your more typical breakfast foods like eggs benedict on toast or a veggie breakfast bun to breakfast-style pizzas. Each dish also comes with a side of fries, which you can upgrade to loaded fries for £3.50. The starter was a little strange, though not unpleasant: lemon-glazed doughballs dusted with powdered sugar!

Our Verdict:

Though one of the pricier bottomless brunches I tried, the Picture House Social brunch felt more like an experience than a casual meal with friends. The disco vibes were just what I needed on a cold Saturday afternoon in January and the backdrop of the 1920s building was the icing on the cake.

Silversmiths

111 Arundel Street, Sheffield, S1 2NT

Offering a ‘taste of Yorkshire’, Silversmiths is the ideal central location for a bottomless brunch in Sheffield. Situated close to the train station and Sheffield’s famous Crucible and Lyceum Theatre, Silversmiths is a relaxed bottomless brunch experience with a slight ‘fine dining’ feel.

Their bottomless brunch is available each Saturday between 12 pm and 3 pm. Diners get to choose from a fine selection of dishes with locally sourced ingredients while enjoying 90 minutes of bottomless drinks for £35.

The menu offers a range of brunch items, including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, ham hock benedict, and chorizo and new potato hash.

Though vegetarians are somewhat limited in choice, the avocado and feta bagel was exquisite. The drinks on offer are prosecco by the glass, Amstel, pornstar martini, merry berry or cosmopolitan cocktails. You can mix and match your drinks and soft drinks are available too.

Booking is essential here and a deposit of £10 per person is also required.

Our Verdict:

Silversmiths is in a quieter part of the city centre but still within walking distance to the main central areas. The bottomless brunch here was delicious and the atmosphere was great. A wider selection of vegetarian options would have been welcome, but what we did have was tasty.

V |OR| V

Wharncliffe Works, Cornish Street, Kelham Island, S6 3FB

Since Silversmiths came up a little short on the vegetarian and vegan front, we thought we’d try V |OR| V out for size. V |OR| V (vegetarian, organic, vegan) was the first fully meat-free restaurant with a license in the city.

As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, we were immediately impressed with its presentation. It had a relaxing, chilled vibe thanks to its wooden fixtures and open brickwork, which fit in really nicely with the industrial roots of the Kelham Island area.

The dishes are cooked over open flames and contained locally sourced organic ingredients. Just because all of the dishes are meat-free, doesn’t mean meat lovers will be turned off, the dishes available are interesting and enough to change anyone’s mind about the tastiness of vegetarian and vegan food!

Options include wild Peak District mushrooms on toasted rye, Sri Lankan broccoli kuttu roti stir fry, and a full vegetarian or vegan English. They also have gluten-free options.

The bottomless brunch costs £30 (+ £3 if you choose the full English) and is served between 12 pm and 3 pm. The service lasts 90 minutes and you can choose from bottomless prosecco, fresh fruit bellini, house wine, Peroni, or guest ale. All of the drinks are vegan too.

Once you’ve finished your brunch, Kelham Island is a great place to explore. The area has expanded massively in the last decade and has gone from being home to just two real ale pubs to being a trendy and popular destination for people in search of a good meal and a good time.

Our Verdict:

The most difficult decision about coming here was choosing what to eat. All of the available options were mouth-wateringly good! The fresh coriander cornbread was delicious as was the fresh fruit bellini. We both thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at V |OR| V.

FirePit Rocks

138 West Street, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield S1 4ES

If you fancy a different style brunch, FirePit Rocks is an unusual take on the typical theme. In this independent venue, you’ll experience brunch in an American-style sports bar that has daily live sport, an arcade and gaming booths for hire.

FirePit Rocks is also reasonably priced at just £25 per person for brunch and 90 minutes of bottomless drinks. Unlike most other venues, their bottomless brunch is also available on Mondays and Fridays as well as on weekends, though on those weekdays it’s more like a dinner than a brunch as it’s available between 4 pm and 8 pm.

At the weekends, though, you can take advantage of the offer from 12 pm to 7 pm. If you choose a late brunch, you’re also in a prime location for some of Sheffield’s best nightlife.

The food options include your usual brunch-style foods like breakfast wraps, waffles, eggs benedict and smashed avocado on toast. We tried the garlic mushrooms on ciabatta and it was delicious!

For drinks, you’ve got a choice of pornstar martini, fired up espresso martini, mojito, lady liberty, sours cocktail, drumstick, Cali sunrise, prosecco or house lager. For the price, we were impressed with the range of drinks on offer. In some bottomless brunch places, you pay supplements for the likes of pornstar martinis and espresso martinis.

Our Verdict:

The food offering, though nothing unique, was absolutely delicious and the range of drinks was pleasing. For £25, we think this bottomless brunch was good value for money and the service was great too.

Forum Kitchen & Bar

127-129 Devonshire Street, Sheffield, S3 7SB

The Forum is a great venue for all sorts of meetings and outings. As well as offering bottomless brunch, they have lots of great deals throughout the week.

Located right in the heart of Sheffield, near the vibrant Devonshire Green, Forum has been around for over two decades 7 days a week. It’s also a child and dog-friendly venue during the day too.

The Forum bottomless brunch menu costs £30 per person and is available between 12 pm and 2 pm on Saturdays, which is a little restrictive compared to other venues. Included in the price is one food item and unlimited prosecco, Sheffield dry gin and mixers, Corona, soft drinks or tea and coffee for 90 minutes.

Menu items include burgers, British burritos, sourdough toast, pizza, nachos and salad. Tables must be booked in advance.

Forum has a strong reputation for its food and we weren’t disappointed. We often like to try out the menu item that’s the most unique for a brunch and so this time, we went for the British burrito – a burrito containing shredded belly pork, traditional stuffing, greens, smashed potatoes and homemade gravy.

We weren’t disappointed! But at almost 2000 calories without including the drinks, it’s certainly not something you’ll want to have every day!

Our Verdict:

We thoroughly enjoyed our Forum bottomless brunch and the service was excellent too. Being able to bring dogs into the venue might sway it for some customers (or put others off!) but we enjoyed seeing a furry friend or two!

Cubana Tapas Bar

Unit 4, Leopold Square, Sheffield S1 2JG

http://www.cubanatapasbar.co.uk/

Cubana is the place to go in Sheffield if you’re wanting a Latin experience in the middle of a British city. It’s not only a place to enjoy food, there’s live music, dancing, and more. They even teach a number of different dances throughout the week.

The Cubana bottomless brunch is offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon. Unlike other establishments, Cubana offers different prices and packages depending on the time of visit and the drinks you’d like.

Prices start from £28.50 per person during sitting 1 (11:30 am to 1:15 pm) up to £46.50 per person during sitting 3 and 4 with deluxe drinks and live music.

As well as unlimited drinks for 1 hour and 45 minutes, guests can choose two dishes from the menu. There are both hot and cold dishes available and lots of choice for vegans, vegetarians and those on a gluten-free diet.

Our favourite was berenjenas al horno, which was oven-baked aubergines in a tomato and parmesan sauce. Sides and desserts are not included in the brunch package but are available to order alongside.

If you book your brunch on Saturday, why not have a salsa and bachata lesson (beginners is from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm). If you have brunch on a Sunday, you’ve got Argentine tango lessons for beginners from 2:30 pm until 3:45 pm!

Our Verdict:

Cubana is fun! It’s a bottomless brunch experience like no other. We loved the atmosphere, the original food available and the drinks. We chose the deluxe package with live music and it was a real treat.

HowSt

46 Howard Street, Sheffield, S1 2LX

http://howst.co.uk/

Just uphill from Sheffield train station is a delightful little venue on Howard Street appropriately named HowSt.

This independent establishment has been on the scene for over a decade and offers fantastic food and drinks. The bottomless brunch is available on Saturday and Sunday. For £22.50, you can enjoy 1.5 hours of unlimited wine or lager and a meal of your choice. For an extra £5, you can enjoy cocktails and prosecco with your meal.

Food options include the full meaty English, Andy Hash (a skillet pan with potatoes, peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes topped with a fried egg and mozzarella and served with bread), ciabatta toasties and loaded bagels.

We recommend the Ole. This was like something we’d never had anywhere else on our search for the best bottomless brunch in Sheffield and included Spanish chorizo, beans and fried egg.

Our Verdict:

We love HowSt and had been many times before but this was our first time trying the bottomless brunch. We highly recommend the Ole. This was like something we’d never had anywhere else on our search for the best bottomless brunch in Sheffield and included Spanish chorizo, beans and fried egg. Divine!

The Lescar

303 Sharrow Vale Road, Sharrow, Sheffield S11 8ZF

https://www.thelescarhuntersbar.co.uk/

Our penultimate independent brunch venue offering bottomless brunch is The Lescar. Located close to the bustling Eccleshall Road, The Lescar offers a great start to your weekend.

You’ll need to book in advance but you’ll have access to unlimited Bloody Marys, prosecco or Camden Hells lager for 90 minutes. Food options include Belgian waffles, a full vegan breakfast, eggs benedict and baked egg shakshuka, which was our favourite.

This atmospheric pub is a relaxed brunch option and at £25, the price is very reasonable.

Our Verdict:

The Lescar is a good all-rounder. We didn’t think it was anything special but it was atmospheric, offered tasty food and was reasonably priced – and sometimes that’s all you want from your bottomless brunch!

Craft & Dough Kelham Island

1A Kelham Square, Kelham Island, Sheffield S3 8SD

Our final independent eatery offering a great bottomless brunch is Craft & Dough. Another establishment in the up-and-coming Kelham Island, Craft & Dough is known for its delicious artisanal pizza and cocktails.

There are four levels of bottomless brunch on offer here: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Prices start at £30 for bronze and go up to £40 for the platinum deal.

The Bronze menu is your traditional ‘brunch’ foods like waffles and bacon, pancakes and eggs served with 90 minutes of unlimited prosecco, Aperol spritz, house pilsner, Orchard Thieves cider or mimosas. The Silver menu has the same food offering but drinks are upgraded to include fruit bellinis, flavoured gin and mixers and Estrella.

For the Gold and Platinum deals the food menu changes to pizzas rather than breakfast foods and the drinks make the difference between the two. These deals are available at 1 pm or 3 pm only and must be booked a week in advance.

We went for the Silver package to try out the brunch foods on offer (due to already being quite familiar with Craft & Dough’s pizza offerings). We tried the Crafty breakfast and Nduja hash and both were lovely.

Our Verdict:

Craft & Dough is widely known for its delicious food and the brunch options we tried didn’t disappoint. Going here for a bottomless brunch is a great start to an afternoon around Kelham Island but the establishment is more casual than others and it felt less of a treat.

The Best Bottomless Brunches in Sheffield – Small Chains

If you’re interested in what else is on offer besides independent restaurants, Sheffield is home to many small chain establishments that might offer just what you’re after. Here are our favourites.

The Lost and Found

515 Eccleshall Road, Broomhall, Sheffield S11 8PY

https://the-lostandfound.co.uk/restaurant/sheffield

Sheffield is widely known as a green city – and one that has more trees than people. The Lost & Found is a great example of an establishment that’s brought this greenery indoors too. It’s a real treat to the senses even before you start tasting your food.

Lost & Found is a small chain over six locations in England, ranging from Bristol to Birmingham and up to Leeds. The bottomless brunch has a great range of foods, including lots of vegetarian choices too.

Besides the more typical English breakfasts on offer, there’s also Green Shakshuka, steak and eggs, tiramisu French toast and a cornflake chicken waffle. As you’ll know by now, we like to try the more unusual offerings so we had the tiramisu French toast and cornflake chicken waffle. Both were fantastic!

The range of drinks was also pleasing. You could choose from Aperol Spritz, mimosa, bloody Mary, prosecco, green machine, strawberry and cucumber fizz on non-alcoholic Italian AF Spritz.

The brunch is one of the more expensive we tried at £35 but for the range of drinks, the setting, time limit and the tasty food, we felt it was good value for money. You can book a two-hour time slot between 11 am and 3 pm on Saturdays.

Our Verdict:

Going out to the Lost & Found felt like a special occasion. The service was excellent and the location was good too as you’re right near Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens to continue the greenery!

Pieminister

67 Division Street, Sheffield S1 4GE

Head out of central Sheffield towards the University and you’ll come across bustling Division Street with Pieminster just as you approach Devonshire Green. If you like pies and bottomless brunches, Pieminister offers the best combination for you!

With the Pieminister bottomless brunch you get a great pie (and heaps of Sheffield’s finest Henderson’s Relish) and 90 minutes of bottomless drinks.

With pies like moo pie as well as mooless moo, there’s plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians and vegans alike. One thing we really wanted to try was the gravy fondue but sadly this wasn’t included in the bottomless brunch!

Our Verdict:

Great pies, great atmosphere and delightful staff meant we thoroughly enjoyed our unique bottomless brunch at Pieminister. However, they don’t have this deal throughout the winter and so you’ll have to wait until the summer months again to enjoy Pieminister’s take on the bottomless brunch!

Large Chains

Many people turn their noses up at large chain restaurants due to their ‘sameness’. However, large chains do well because they know what people like!

When it comes to bottomless brunches in Sheffield, there are plenty of large-chain options. Here are two of the best ones we tried:

Pitcher & Piano

Unit 1 NUM Building, 18 Holly Street, Sheffield S1 3GT

https://www.pitcherandpiano.com/bars/sheffield

Pitcher & Piano’s bottomless brunch menu is available at weekends for £34. You can choose any dish from the brunch menu and have unlimited bellinis, mimosas, prosecco, pints of Amstel or Aperol spritz for two hours.

The menu is varied and there are lots of options for vegetarians and vegans too. You can try things like breakfast brioche, brunch burgers or baked shakshuka alongside your typical breakfast items. You’ll pay extra for sides and can even have a strawberry and prosecco lolly as an added extra too.

Our Verdict:

Pitcher & Piano got things spot on for our large group. The two-hour slot meant things felt relaxed and we had plenty of time to take things slowly.

The restaurant is in a nice, central location too and overlooks Sheffield City Hall. You can book until late so it would be a great warm up to an evening at the Last Laugh Comedy Club just over the road.

The Botanist

Unit 5A & 5B, Leopold Square, Sheffield, S1 2JG

https://thebotanist.uk.com/locations/sheffield

The Botanist doesn’t have your usual chain restaurant feel. The designers of this establishment have got things spot on. It’s almost like stepping into a secret garden.

Located in the bustling Leopold Square and close to the aforementioned Cubana Tapas Bar, The Botanist offers a fantastic bottomless brunch.

In a slightly different format to other venues, The Botanist has a delicious brunch menu with a bottomless drinks option. This means you choose from the menu as normal and then pay £15.95 for 90 minutes of free-flowing drinks to accompany your meal. We really liked this way of doing things!

The food was served quickly and the portions were generous. The Ham Hock Eggs Benedict was our favourite but if you are struggling to choose, you can opt for the Brunch Twist which means you can sample all of the brunch items on one sampling plate!

Our Verdict:

The Botanist is in a great location and has a great atmosphere. The ivy-wrapped columns, wooden panelling and soft lighting were the perfect antidotes to a bustling city centre full of shoppers – and the food was delicious too.

Verdict

Sheffield has so many great bottomless brunch options and we weren’t left disappointed at any of the establishments we sampled. Of all of the bottomless brunches we tried, our favourites were the Picture House Social for its cool building and entertainment, Cubana Tapas Bar for its live music, V |OR| V for its quirkiness, and HowSt for its value for money.

We’re only sorry we couldn’t try all of the options available in Sheffield! The ones we haven’t tried yet include The Graduate, Turtle Bay, Walkabout, Slug & Lettuce, Brows, Las Iguanas, All Bar One and more. Do let us know your experiences of any of these places!

The bottomless brunch trend has been rising steadily over the last decade. Inspired by a trend that started in Manhattan, it’s now a popular offering in many cafes and restaurants across the country.

Though it still feels brand new for many of us, diners can’t get enough of this hybrid meal and as such, many independent and chain restaurants are exploring this lucrative venture.

The Popularity of the Bottomless Brunch in York

One reason bottomless brunches have become a thing is down to their serving time. With traditional breakfast times finished, dining establishments can fill their tables during the pre-lunch lull. This is also popular with customers as it’s seen as a perfect way to indulge after having a lie-in or as a ‘hair of the dog’ recovery after a big night out.

York is no stranger to a good bottomless brunch and there are plenty of options to choose from. Whether you fancy pancakes, eggs, avocado, or a full English, you’ll find it alongside a lot of drink choices. In our bid to try and find the best bottomless brunch in York, we tried a lot of places.

Here’s what we found.

The Best Bottomless Brunches In York – Independent Cafes & Restaurants

Whether you live in York or are enjoying a trip away, it’s always good to try something that you won’t find anywhere else. Though we found lots of independent establishments offering amazing brunches (Dyls, Brew & Brownie, Fancy Hanks, and Source York, which is a vegan restaurant), there was only one independent establishment offering a bottomless brunch, the Impossible York.

The Impossible Wonderbar & Tea room

3 St. Helen’s Square, York, YO1 8QN – https://impossibleyork.com/

Located in a beautiful grade II listed building and former chocolate shop in St. Helen’s Square, Impossible York is a fantastic addition to the York hospitality scene. With exquisite interiors and a delicious menu, this is a fantastic location for a bottomless brunch.

The Wonder Brunch costs £35 per person and comes complete with 90 minutes of bottomless drinks. Diners can choose one large plate or one small and a side. Options include moules marinère, fish taco and burgers. The available drinks include prosecco, gin cocktails, wine and bottled beer as well as soft drinks.

The offer is available every day of the week between 12 pm and 6 pm.

Our verdict

The building and setting were exquisite, the food was extremely tasty, and the range of drinks offered was great. However, we felt this was less of a brunch offering and more of a lunch option.

The Best Bottomless Brunches In York – Small Chains

If the Impossible Wonderbar doesn’t take your fancy, why not try out a small chain restaurant for bottomless brunch? There are two such places in York and both are fabulous!

Manahatta

3 Little Stonegate, York – https://www.manahatta.co.uk/

Set over three floors, this glamourous cocktail bar is inspired by Manhattan itself. This is the perfect choice for a bottomless brunch as it’s close to all of York’s sights.

The menu includes firm favourites like smashed avocado and poached eggs, pancake stacks, and pretzels. You can also steer towards more lunch-like options, including burgers, nachos, and chicken – though you’ll pay a supplement for these.

Drinks-wise, you have 90 minutes of unlimited drinks, and the offering is exceptional. You can have unlimited Prosecco, apple, strawberry or Aperol spritz, apricot and grapefruit fizz, bloody Mary or Coors. There are tasty non-alcoholic options too.

Prices for the bottomless brunch start at £34.95 each and the offer is available until 4 pm.

Our verdict

We loved Manahatta! The brunch felt like an actual brunch (as opposed to a lunch like The Impossible) and the drink options were great. One member of our group was pleased with the non-alcoholic drinks as these were still a little bit special and not just your regular soft drink choices.

Jimmy’s

52 Low Petergate, York YO1 7HZ – closed but new venue opening – https://jimmys.group/

We visited Jimmy’s York in spring 2022 but it closed its doors in June and a new build is underway in Toft Green on the former Fibbers site. We still think it’s worth including in our review as hopefully the new site will offer the same excellent experience we had when it opens!

The bottomless brunch was available on Weekends from 10 am until 3 pm. The food was excellent and included a 6-hour smoked pork benedict, which was divine! Along with your food, you have 90 minutes of bottomless drinks. Options include their own craft lager, gin and tonics, Prosecco and good old-fashioned martinis.

Jimmy’s originated as a concept in Manchester and it also has a venue in Liverpool. Its founders, George and Jimmy, are brothers and bandmates in One Night Only and had a hit with Just For Tonight in 2008 that reached No. 9 in the UK Singles Chart. The Manchester and Liverpool venues offer live music, which is something the Petergate site didn’t.

Our verdict

The bottomless brunch we had at Jimmy’s was delicious. We tried their own-brand lager, which washed down the pork benedict a treat. Let’s hope they continue offering this bottomless brunch when the new venue opens!

The Best Bottomless Brunches In York – Large Chains

Some people don’t like chain restaurants – and for good reason. The experience and food just aren’t unique, and it doesn’t always feel like a special experience.

However, chains certainly do provide a good service, especially when it comes to bottomless brunches. Here are the best ones in York.

The Ivy York

2 St. Helen’s Square, York, YO1 8QP – https://theivyyork.com/

We’re going to be a bit cheeky here and still include The Ivy in our list despite it not being bottomless. The brunch offering is just so good that we felt it still needed including despite drinks needing to be ordered separately!

Situated right next door to The Impossible we mentioned above, The Ivy in York occupies a beautiful space inspired by art deco. The experience you have here is exquisite, as you might expect. Though The Ivy is a chain, it’s clearly a high-class one so this shouldn’t put you off at all.

Their brunch menu is available on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. You can choose from dishes like duck liver parfait, wild truffled mushrooms, eggs benedict and chips, and our favourite – twice-baked cheese soufflé.

Our verdict

An experience like no other, The Ivy York certainly gives you an exclusive brunch experience. Though expensive and actually not bottomless, we’re certain you’ll thoroughly enjoy your food and drink here.

Pitcher & Piano

Ebor House, Coney Street, York YO1 9QL – https://www.pitcherandpiano.com/bottomless-brunch

Pitcher & PianoYork has a bottomless brunch menu available every weekend for £34. You can enjoy unlimited Prosecco, mimosas, Bellini’s, Aperol spritz or Amstel with any brunch dish.

The food menu is limited with just seven options but they’re very tasty indeed. We tried the Breakfast Brioche, which comes with smoked streaky bacon, grilled pork sausage, egg, hash browns, Monterey Jack cheese and spicy ketchup – it was delicious.

What we particularly liked about this offer was that you had the table for two hours, which felt much more relaxed. We didn’t drink any more than the 90-minute places but felt like it was a better length of time.

Our verdict

The two-hour time slot was appreciated as it’s a nice location that overlooks the River Ouse. We also liked the unique addition of the strawberry and Prosecco ice lolly for a further £5, which rounded things off nicely!

Tank & Paddle

Merchant Exchange, Bridge St, York, YO1 6DD – https://www.crafted-social.co.uk/tank-and-paddle-york/boozy-brunch

Tank & Paddle York is located right in the centre of the city in a former merchant building. It is a craft beer establishment with industrial charm and a sun trap of a balcony. They proudly declare they offer one of the most extensive bottomless brunch menus around – and they’re not wrong.

Prices start from £28 per person and for that you get bottomless drinks for two whole hours! Drinks choices include Prosecco, three cocktails, three lagers, three ciders, and four gins and mixers. You can also upgrade (+£5) to include other cocktails and craft beers.

The menu has a huge range of options, including a full English breakfast, burgers (+£5), smashed avocado crumpets, jackfruit crumpets, waffles, quesadillas, and pizzas (+£5) among others. You can also ask for bottomless chicken or cauli wings for £5 extra per person.

Our verdict

The menu certainly is the most extensive we’ve experienced. If you go all-out (like we did!), the most you’ll pay is £43 – that’s choosing the most expensive food option, bottomless wings, and the drinks upgrade. For what you get, it’s really reasonable – especially since you have two hours to enjoy yourselves.

The Brunch Club

Impossible York, 3 St. Helen’s Square, York YO1 8QN – https://thebrunchclub.co.uk/cities/york-row/

The Brunch Club are famous for their brunches and they’re actually more of an event than a casual brunch with friends. There are numerous events in York throughout the year and they happen around once per month.

No, you’re not reading it wrong – these events actually take place at The Impossible!

Each even has a theme such as an Abba bottomless brunch, a Spice Girls Drag bottomless brunch and a Pop Icons Drag bottomless brunch.

Each event lasts three hours and includes DJs performances, a brunch and an hour of bottomless drinks. Prices start from around £40. Menus vary depending on the event.

Our verdict

We had a really great time at our Brunch Club event. It did seem much more of a big event than a casual meal with friends and wouldn’t suit everyone. If you’re looking for a hangover cure or a quiet brunch in a small group, it’s perhaps not the choice for you!

Slug and Lettuce

1-1A Low Ousegate, York Riverside, YO1 9QU – https://www.slugandlettuce.co.uk/york/experiences/bottomless-brunch

Slug & Lettuce Riverside York is a perfect location for a bottomless brunch. Prices start from just £30 making this one of the cheapest bottomless brunches in York we’ve found – and considering you get two hours of bottomless drinks, it’s a real bargain.

Food options include full English breakfasts (vegan and vegetarian options are available), smashed avocado on toast, and a range of pancakes or you can upgrade to a burger, sub or wrap for an additional £3.

Drinks-wise, you’ve got unlimited Prosecco, gin and mixers, vodka and mixers, mimosas, bloody Marys, Aperol spritzes, virgin Marys and other soft drinks. There is an option to upgrade to pornstar martinis for £10 per person – but all people in the party must upgrade.

Our verdict

Slug and Lettuce was great. The portions were incredibly good and the range of drinks in the standard package suited our party completely without the need to upgrade. As a brunch, there’s a great choice and you’ve also got the upgrade if you want more lunch-style foods to accompany your drinks. All in all, we had a great time.

Verdict

Trying out the different bottomless brunches in York was a real treat. If we’re going to make the call and say what the best bottomless brunch was in York, we’d have to say The Impossible.

We love the fact that this is an independent establishment that genuinely cares about its customers and the experience they have there. What’s more, they’re also now holding The Brunch Club events, which makes it even more special. If you want a cheap, good feed and two hours of drinks, we’d recommend Tank & Paddle or Slug & Lettuce.

And don’t forget The Ivy for an out-of-this-world brunch experience (even if it isn’t actually bottomless – shh!).
